Pop star KYLIE MINOGUE has split from boyfriend OLIVIER MARTINEZ.
The couple, who dated for four years, insist the separation is "amicable", and will remain firm friends - but blamed press intrusion for their decision to end the relationship.
A statement issued by the pair says, "Olivier Martinez and Kylie Minogue have officially confirmed that they are no longer a couple.
"They have made it clear that the decision to go their separate ways was mutual and amicable. The media’s false accusations of disloyalty have saddened them both.
"The two remain very close friends." Martinez sparked rumours of a split with the SPINNING AROUND star in December (06) after he was spotted with Israeli model SARAI GIVATI and LOST star MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ. The TAKING LIVES actor also missed the opening night of Minogue’s Showgirl Tour last year (06), with the couple not seen together in public together since October (06). However Minogue dismissed allegations of Martinez’s "affairs" last month (JAN07), admitting her relationship with the Frenchman made her "unconditionally happy".
She said, "There are places in my life that bring me absolute unconditional happiness. One is being up there on stage performing and then I have the absolute opposite, to be in the arms of my boyfriend.
"If I can have both, I’m a happy girl."

Oscar winner RACHEL WEISZ has hit back at claims she scored her role in new movie THE FOUNTAIN because husband DARREN ARONOFSKY was the director, insisting HUGH JACKMAN recommended her for the part.
The English actress took on the role of IZZI in the sci-fi thriller after CATE BLANCHETT dropped out, but only after Jackman had managed to convince Aronofsky his wife was perfect for the part.
She tells Empire magazine, "There was just no question that I was going to be in the movie. It was really all Hugh’s idea. He said to Darren, ‘I think Rachel would be really right for this’."

BILLY BOB THORNTON found himself at the receiving end of taunts from British actor HUGH GRANT - after the BAD SANTA star revealed his phobia of nineteenth century British Prime Minister BENJAMIN DISRAELI’s hairstyle.
Thornton was so sickened by Disraeli’s curly locks he found himself unable to eat every time Grant mentioned the late statesman on the set of 2003 film LOVE ACTUALLY.
He tells Empire magazine, "I was watching some old movie once - I don’t remember the name of it - but Benjamin Disraeli was a character in it. He was in this old, weird room, with old heavy drapes and there was just something about his hair.
"I thought, ‘God knows what’s going on with that hair’. I don’t know what it was - maybe some food accidentally got in there somehow. There was something about the way it swept out…I couldn’t breathe too well.
"When I did Love Actually with Hugh Grant, he set up a picture of Benjamin Disraeli right at the top of the stairs where we were doing our scene. He just wouldn’t leave me alone about it. Right before lunch he’d mention something about Benjamin Disraeli’s hair and I couldn’t eat."

NAOMI CAMPBELL is getting broody after watching three of her supermodel friends become mothers in recent years.
The 36-year-old says she is ready to embrace her maternal side after witnessing the motherly devotion of her modelling colleagues CINDY CRAWFORD, HELENA CHRISTENSEN and LINDA EVANGELISTA.
She reveals, "All my friends have kids now. Cindy, Helena and now Linda.

US media group Viacom has demanded the removal of 100,000 videos from website YouTube after talks over revenue from the site collapsed.
Viacom said videos owned by its companies, including clips from the SHREK movies, MTV and MISS AMERICA 2007, have already been viewed 1.2 billion times on the website.
Viacom had proposed a system of allowing videos to remain on the website in return for a share in YouTube’s advertising revenue, but the two media groups were unable to reach an agreement.

London’s National Theatre is threatening to sue THE HISTORY BOYS star BEN BARNES after he left the West End production of the Tony award-winning play to join the cast of a Disney film.
Barnes abandoned his role as sexually manipulative schoolboy DAKIN this week (begs29JAN07) after being offered the title role in THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA, Disney’s £50 million ($97.5 million) sequel to 2005’s THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE.
The National Theatre has been forced to fly in JAMIE KING, who has previously played the role of Dakin, from Los Angeles as there was no time to rehearse a new actor for the part.
A spokesman for the National Theatre said yesterday (02FEB07), "Ben Barnes has decided to leave The History Boys early, before his contract is finished.
It is something we are taking very seriously. He has accepted an offer to be in a children’s Disney film." The Broadway production of The History Boys won a record six Tony awards, including Best Play, in 2006.

British star SIENNA MILLER has hit back at claims she’s addicted to media attention, insisting she’s only seeking publicity to promote her new movie FACTORY GIRL.
The 25-year-old actress was mocked by the British press for appearing at the Factory Girl New York premiere after party in a pair of knickers last week (ends03FEB07) - but Miller insists being in the spotlight is "all part of the job". She says, "Look, I’m doing all this PR for a movie that’s coming out. It’s a big publicity push. I have to do it. It’s part of my job. But I don’t read all the stuff. I don’t keep it, I don’t cut it out or save it or look at it or stick it in scrapbooks.
"If I were the type who’d be reading all about myself, I’d be quite sick of myself."

HARRY POTTER star DANIEL RADCLIFFE has defended his decision to appear nude on the London stage, insisting his role in a revival of PETER SHAFFER’s 1973 play EQUUS would be "rubbish" if he didn’t bare all.
The 17-year-old actor admits he hit the gym to tone up for the revealing role, but he insists he has no problem appearing nude on stage if it helps his performance.
He says, "I’m fine about it. Equus is an iconic play. The nude scene is part of it. I can’t do it with my pants on. That would be rubbish. We’ve done the scene a couple of times in rehearsal. I had no particular qualms. There’s nothing that would stop me getting my kit off if that’s what the work demands.
"The key to serious acting is to lose your inhibitions, to become free and fearless. I feel OK about my body. Not totally, of course, but no one my age does…but I’ve gone to the gym to make sure. And many of the actors I admire, like GARY OLDMAN, have gone naked."

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER creator JOSS WHEDON has quit as writer and director of the forthcoming WONDER WOMAN movie over "creative differences".
Whedon signed up to adapt the popular comic book and 1970s TV show for the big screen in May (06), but has severed ties with the project after failing to agree to a script with the film’s producers.
He writes on his website, "You (hopefully) heard it here first: I’m no longer slated to make Wonder Woman…I had a take on the film that, well, nobody liked.
"Let me stress first that everybody at the studio and Silver Pictures were cool and professional. We just saw different movies, and at the price range this kind of movie hangs in, that’s never gonna work. It happens all the time.
I don’t think any of us expected it to this time, but it did."

MASTODON guitarist BILL KELLIHER has hit back at claims the American heavy rockers sold out by signing with record company Warner Bros, insisting their move to a major label hasn’t affected their sound.
The band released BLOOD MOUNTAIN, their first album with Warner Bros, in September (06) after five years with independent record labels, but Kelliher has defended the band’s new commercial direction.
He says, "Blood Mountain would be the exact same record it was, no matter what label put it out, except it probably wouldn’t sound as good as it does because we’d have had less time in the studio.
"We made it clear to Warner Bros that we’re not a pop-rock band or a group of 19-year-olds who got together to be a supergroup and write hits for the radio.

The SMILE singer reveals she watches porn on TV wherever she is in the world because "the language of love is universal", but she admits she isn’t a fan of "sick and twisted" Japanese blue movies.
She reveals, "When I travel around the world there often isn’t anything to watch on TV, especially when they don’t speak English. But watching porn is fine as it doesn’t need words. It’s sort of universal.

THE KOOKS star LUKE PRITCHARD was shocked to be subjected to a torrent of abuse from hard-living British singer AMY WINEHOUSE.
The NAIVE singer approached Winehouse at a recording of BBC music show LATER WITH JOOLS HOLLAND to lavish praise on her latest album BACK TO BLACK, but he was left speechless when Winehouse responded to his compliments with a foul-mouthed tirade.
He recalls, "All I said to her was that I enjoyed her latest album. And suddenly, out of the blue, she had a massive go at me. At one point she told me to f**king pull my head out of my a**e. It was really weird. Everyone was just standing around looking at her.
"It’s strange because she was really nice to begin with. But when I went up to her at the photoshoot she suddenly turned really cold. She’s crackers. I f**king don’t give a s**t. Some people are just like that - artists like VAN MORRISON, who’s really moody." However, Pritchard refuses to hold a grudge, saying, "I still think she’s great. I didn’t really like her first album but I love her second. She’s got an amazing voice."

SIMPLY RED star MICK HUCKNALL and his partner GABRIELLA WESBERRY are expecting their first child in June (07).
The HOLDING BACK THE YEARS singer began dating company director Wesberry in 1995, but they later split because of Hucknall’s frantic touring schedule.
However, the pair got back together in 2003 and have been trying for their first child since early last year (06).
Hucknall told friends, "We’re absolutely over the moon. It’s the most amazing news ever. I can’t wait to become a dad."

TAKE THAT star MARK OWEN has fractured two bones in his right hand after suffering an accident while carrying out home improvements.
The BACK FOR GOOD singer will have to wear a cast on his right hand for six weeks - after he used the limb to break his fall when he plummeted from a ladder.
His manager reveals, "He was fixing an outdoor light fitting, lost his balance and fell on stone steps. The doctors say he will be in a cast until March (07)."

JENNIFER LOPEZ is set to receive the Artists for Amnesty award at the Berlin Film Festival for producing and starring in BORDERTOWN, a film examining the murders of hundreds of women in a Mexican town.
The IF YOU HAD MY LOVE singer will receive her award on 14 February (07) from Nobel Peace Prize winner JOSE RAMOS-HORTA.
She says, "Since first hearing of these atrocities in 1998…I desperately wanted to tell this story (as depicted in Bordertown).
"I began working to ensure we made this film in order to bring the attention of the world to this tragedy and to pressure the Mexican government to bring to justice those responsible for these horrible crimes."

BRITNEY SPEARS’ estranged husband KEVIN FEDERLINE has issued an apology to anyone who is offended by his upcoming Super Bowl ad where he stars as a fast-food worker.
Federline was slammed by members of the US National Restaurant Association last week (BEG29JAN07), who claimed the ad was insulting to fast-food workers.
The 28-year-old insists he never meant to disparage anyone explaining, "The commercial is completely intended for me, making fun of myself and my own situation. "It has nothing to do with anybody in the fast-food industry at all. So, you know, if we’ve offended anybody, I’m really sorry about that." Federline appears in a 30-second spot for Nationwide Mutual Insurance where he is daydreaming about being a rap star while cooking french fries at a fast-food restaurant.

VENUS star JODIE WHITTAKER fears she’s upsetting staff at her favourite bookstore - by reading up on the birth of the Nazis.
The newcomer will play a young Nazi, who falls for VIGGO MORTENSEN’s character in new movie GOOD, and she has been hitting her local London bookstore looking for books about the history of the German political party.
She says, "I play a student during the rise of the Nazi party who’s whipped along in the hysteria.
"I’ve been trying to understand, so I go to bookshops every week to find books on the history of the Nazi party.
"I explain that it’s for research purposes only, but I’m probably ruining my reputation."

HANNIBAL RISING director PETER WEBBER knew he’d found the right "sick puppy" to play the young HANNIBAL LECTER when his lead started finding his autopsy research fascinating.
In order to play the infamous fictional cannibal, French actor GASPARD ULLIEL had to learn all about the insides of the human body and how to slice it open, and so Webber sent him to autopsy lessons.
Webber says, "It seemed, to me, very important that if Gaspard were to play Hannibal Lecter with any conviction he needed to go through some of his experiences.
"A lot of the story takes place in medical school and we know that Lecter is involved with preparing dead bodies, so what better thing to do than to send him to a medical school to see how bodies are cut up.
"I was expecting him to come back ashen faced saying, `How could you possibly do that to me,’ but he loved it, the sick little puppy.
"He said, `I’ve got to go back tomorrow because they’re flaying the skin from the body and I want to see what a flayed human body looks like.’ He’s evil." Ulliel admits he found his research rewarding: "It’s very interesting to be able to have a close look at the inner parts of the human body and see how everything works. "The smell is the only thing that is a bit hard because it was very strong, but the rest of it is a bit nice because you have those different colours and textures; it’s like a piece of art… like an omelette!"
