GLITTER RECOMMENDED FOR EARLY RELEASE BY VIETNAMESE PRISON OFFICIALS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:07 pm

LATEST: Disgraced British rocker GARY GLITTER has been recommended for early release from his two and half year prison sentence in Vietnam.
Glitter, who was incarcerated after he was convicted of molesting two Vietnamese girls, is due to stay in prison until November (08) but Vietnamese officials have recommended he should be freed in May this year (07). Glitter is benefiting from the Vietnamese New Year tradition to reduce the terms of inmates with good prison records, but three judges will make the final decision whether to reduce his sentence on 7 February (07).
The 62-year-old rocker was convicted of committing "obscene acts with children" last March (06).
It wasn’t Glitter’s first child sex offence - he was convicted of possessing child pornography in his native Britain in the late 1990s, and served half of a four-month jail term.
