Eye sore
A Chinese man had his contact lenses surgically removed after leaving them in his eyes for a year.
Liu, 40, decided to constantly wear his lenses because he had difficulty taking them out.
When his eyesight declined further, he put another pair of lenses in - on top of the original ones.
Liu’s eyesight didn’t improve, so he added a third lens to each eye.
He told Chutian City News: "I put a pair of used disposal contact lenses over the other two pairs in my eyes. By then, I was wearing three pairs of lenses." The following day Liu’s eyes were swollen so he sought medical attention.
Doctors had to operate on Liu after finding the first lenses had grown into his eyes.
