TE KANAWA SHOCKED BY FARNHAM’S BEHAVIOUR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:16 pm

LATEST: Opera singer DAME KIRI TE KANAWA pulled out of a deal to perform with JOHN FARNHAM after being shocked by footage of the rocker collecting knickers "as some sort of trophy" at a concert.
Te Kanawa was due to perform with Farnham in a series of Australian shows two years ago (05), but became concerned after watching a DVD of his live concerts.
The soprano and her ex-manager NICK GRACE are being sued by concert promoters Leading Edge for up to AUS$2 million ($1.6 million/£790,000) for alleged breach of contract.
The soprano told a court in Sydney, "I was concerned about the knickers and underwear apparel being thrown at him and him collecting it and obviously holding it in his hand as some sort of trophy.
"If this is what he does, how do I control this? It was disrespectful to me in particular."

    1. Kiri Te Kanawa agreed to perform with John Farnham, then, after having seen DVD’s of his performances, she changed her mind when she could see how popular John is. A fine singer she may be, but, she knew she could not share a stage with him as she would be clearly outclassed! She then went about inventing excuses from John being “chatty to “underwear being thrown and kept as a trophy to “the orchestra can’t play a tune. I’m not sure what she was so worried about as it is highly unlikely any underwear would have been thrown on the stage while she was performing (what a waste of good underwear that would have been). Hopefully she can now see what a fool she has made of herself. Perhaps Kiri should have just been honest from the beginning and this whole silly court case could be over. It’s time John did some more shows – Kiri (excuse me, Dame Kiri) has certainly given him plenty of ‘chat’ material to use between songs! How about it John? Australia is desperate for some good music and your own personal brand of ENTERTAINMENT!!

    2. This court case could be over in 10 minutes…its a joke!! “The Dame” obviously realised, after watching a DVD of John Farnham that she would be a “support act” to John - its as simple as that. John has a very loyal and dedicated fan base, and thrives on the interaction between himself and his fans - thats what an ENTERTAINER does. He never encourages his fans to do anything, however when something happens, such as a pair of “apparel” being thrown at him, he will use it as a way to make a joke and ENTERTAIN his audience. “The Dame” quite simply agreed to perform with John as a way of obtaining a “ready made” audience for herself - as it has come out in court that her previous shows were a “flop” in Australia. I say thank god it never happened - John will always fill out arenas by himself and certainly doesnt need someone such as “The Dame” to ensure this happens.
