Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:28 pm

Former ALIAS star JENNIFER GARNER was mortified when a ring husband BEN AFFLECK gave her disappeared down a drain and ended up under their home.
The star was preparing for the debut of her new film when she dropped the diamond ring on the floor and it rolled under a large ice machine.
She explains "I was getting ready to go to the premiere of CATCH AND RELEASE and the hair’s going here and the make-up’s going there and I was playing with this ring that Ben gave me for the birth of the child.
"You get a ring now or something wonderful, he’s very generous. So he gave me this beautiful diamond ring and I was playing with it and it fell onto the ground and it fell into the drain under the ice-maker. "A plumber had to come while I’m getting ready to go and dismantle the thing from under the house - and he found it! A happy ending!"

BRITNEY SPEARS’ estranged husband KEVIN FEDERLINE is desperately trying to convince the pop star to check into rehab, according to media reports in the US.
Since filing for divorce in November (06), the TOXIC star has been out on the town almost every night and Federline is concerned about her well-being.

WINSLET AND DICAPRIO REMAIN FIRM FRIENDS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:25 pm

KATE WINSLET is convinced the reason she and TITANIC co-star LEONARDO DiCAPRIO remain such great friends is because there was never any sexual attraction between them. Although they starred in one of the greatest love stories of all time, the two never developed any romantic feelings toward each other. She explains, "One of the most wonderful things about the relationship I had with Leonardo DiCaprio is that we were always just friends, not a flicker of flirtation.
"People wanted us to end up together in some way, but the kissing scenes in Titanic were very weird, like I was kissing my brother." The British star admits that the two still provide each other moral support when they run into each other at big award shows.
She adds, "When I was at the Academy Awards for ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND, I was presenting. I told him how nervous I was. He said, ‘Sweetie, you’ll be absolutely fine.’ "As I walked across the stage, I sought him out in the crowd. He gave me a big, fat wink, and a little quiet thumbs up. It helped. We really have stayed very good friends."

GRANT LEFT JADED ABOUT POP STARS AFTER USING NEW TECHNOLOGY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:22 pm

HUGH GRANT was left disillusioned about the music industry after portraying a fallen 1980s pop icon in new movie MUSIC & LYRICS because it made him realise how easy it is to make a terrible singer sound great.
Grant admits he isn’t the greatest singer in the world and was terrified when he realised he’d have to hit the high notes in the film.
So he was relieved, at first, when he realised how technology could help him sound like a pop professional. But he left the film set feeling jaded and cheated by his favourite stars.
Grant explains, "They’ve got this process now, with the computer, where they could make anyone sound good.
"I got more and more confident and in the end I sang much better because you know they can fix you if you don’t. By the end of the film I came to quite love the sound of my own voice.
"But I now realise that the whole of the music business is a gigantic fraud.
These record producers would be the first to admit that that’s actually true.
"The only ones I have respect for are the ones who come in and say, ‘We’re not doing any of that Pro Tools (computer programme) nonsense’ and don’t mind if they hit a wrong note." Grant’s co-star DREW BARRYMORE was also amazed with what technology could do with her voice: "ADAM SCHLESINGER from FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE was the one conducting our singing sessions and he made me feel at ease. I knew that I was having crows and vomit spewing out of my mouth and he was like, ‘It’s OK.’"

DREW TURNED TO KIND-HEARTED HUGH FOR ON-SET THERAPY SESSIONS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:22 pm

DREW BARRYMORE saw a softer side of movie star HUGH GRANT when the pair played unlikely lovers in new film MUSIC & LYRICS; the Brit became her agony uncle.
Peronal events, Barrymore would prefer not to go into, left the actress shattered and tearful on the set some days, and her caring co-star was always close at hand to help her through the pain.
She explains, "I had one very hard day on the set. He came round and put his arm round me and he said, ‘Are you alright?’ "He just, like, took me to his trailer, sat me down, put a beer in my hand and said, ‘Talk, I’m here for you. What’s going on?’ I just thought, ‘What a lovely person you are, Hubert.’"

TEETH WOULD HAVE BEEN NEESON’S DOWNFALL IN THE WILD WEST

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:22 pm

Irish actor LIAM NEESON fears his sensitive teeth would have ruined his chances of surviving in the American Wild West.
The BATMAN BEGINS star plays wilderness man CARVER in new period action film SERAPHIM FALLS, but admits he could never be a real-life mountain guy.
He explains, "If I had a severe tooth ache I would not have survived it. I have sensitive teeth and I turn into a total coward if I have tooth pain. It must be an Irish trait to have sensitive teeth."

WHITAKER REGRETS GOLDEN GLOBES SPEECH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:19 pm

THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND star FOREST WHITAKER regrets not being more composed during his acceptance speech at the Golden Globe Awards last week (15JAN07).
The 45 year old won Best Actor in a Drama for his acclaimed portrayal of brutal Ugandan dictator IDI AMIN, and was overcome by emotion when he took the stage.
He struggled to compose himself and stuttered apologies as he attempted to regain control of his emotions.
He explains, "I lived in the moment. Until I heard my name, I didn’t know if it was going to be true. When I heard it I was overwhelmed, really.
"I started stuttering around and stuff. I wish I was more coherent." Whitaker is also nominated for an Academy Award for the performance, but won’t be disappointed if he doesn’t win because making the film was so rewarding. He adds, "I guess (winning an Oscar) is historic. It goes down in history forever. People will always know that moment.
"I think the private moments, the sort of individual moments when you’re working, when you do something and it’s pure magic, that’s kind of what I live for."

WASHINGTON SEEKS COUNSELING AT TREATMENT CENTRE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:19 pm

LATEST: Disgraced GREY’S ANATOMY star ISAIAH WASHINGTON was checked into a residential treatment facility in a bid to keep his job on the medical drama, according to news reports in America.
The actor hit the headlines last year with anti-gay remarks he made towards castmate TR KNIGHT on the set of the show. He repeated the remarks in a bid to clear his name at the Golden Globe Awards earlier this month (JAN07).
After publicly apologising for using the derogatory word "faggot" in public last week (18JAN07), Washington met with enraged gay community leaders on Monday (22JAN07).
Accepting he needs help, Washington checked into the unnamed facility for a "psychological assessment" this morning (24JAN07), according to a report in American publication Life & Style.
His decision to seek help for his comments came after Washington met with TV bosses at ABC, the network that airs Grey’s Anatomy in the US.
A source tells the publication, "ABC has told him he must enter a programme to examine why he would say such hateful words."

FANNING SLAMS FILM CRITICS FOR ATTACKING FAMILY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:16 pm

LATEST: Child star DAKOTA FANNING has hit back at critics who attacked her parents for allowing her to film a simulated rape scene in her new movie.
Several religious groups have protested the movie HOUNDDOG, saying that having a 12-year-old in a rape scene was criminal. However, Fanning says some of the people who bashed the film’s concept "were attacking my family and me, and that’s where it got too far. "Pretty much everybody who talked about it attacked my mother, which I did not appreciate. That was extremely uncalled for and hurtful." The controversial scene lasts less than a minute and no simulation of a sex act is depicted on camera. The young star insists the scene was not disturbing to shoot and says she filmed the close-ups of her face alone. Fanning says even if she hadn’t been in the movie she would want to see it adding, "I know my mom would take me to see it. "You have to prepare your children for things that happen in the world.
Everything isn’t rosy."

DAUGHTRY TOPPLES DREAMGIRLS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:13 pm

AMERICAN IDOL star CHRIS DAUGHTRY’s tearful rendition of the US National Anthem before Sunday’s (21JAN07) sporting clash between gridiron teams the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints has helped to propel the singer to the top of the album charts.
His debut album, DAUGHTRY, has toppled the DREAMGIRLS soundtrack in its ninth week on release - but only just.
The margin between the two albums is just 130 copies, according to Billboard chart compilers - the narrowest gap between the top two albums.

Soul queen DIANA ROSS enjoys the charts top debut, landing at number 32 with her new album I LOVE YOU.

FEDERLINE AD ANGERS FAST FOOD WORKERS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:13 pm

Members of the National Restaurant Association in the US are furious with KEVIN FEDERLINE for appearing in a commercial demeaning fast food workers.
BRITNEY SPEARS’ estranged husband recently taped an ad for Nationwide Insurance, which shows him daydreaming about being a rap star, but really working in a fast food restaurant.
Representatives from the organisation say the ad, which is set to debut during the US Superbowl broadcast next month (FEB07), is "demeaning and unpleasant" to the nation’s restaurant workers.
Spokeswoman ANNIKA STENNSSON insists the ad could have been done differently telling PageSix.com, "A sudden change in Federline’s career could have been depicted with him holding an unemployment benefit check. It shouldn’t be necessary for a company to disrespect others to get its point across. It’s a negative, unfair and inaccurate reflection. Nationwide spokesman ERIC HARDGROVE hits back at the claims saying the ad isn’t meant "to offend or insult the many fine individuals who work in the restaurant industry." He says it’s a "humorous take on one person’s life. The focus of the ad is the element of surprise, not the setting of a fast-food restaurant."

MOORE DEBUTS NEW SONGS AT SUNDANCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:10 pm

Pop star/actress MANDY MOORE nervously debuted five songs at a private concert last Saturday (20JAN07) at the Sundance Film Festival.
The 22-year-old star has been writing the personal songs to work through her break-up with SCRUBS star ZACH BRAFF and subsequent battle with depression.
She tells American publication People, "I’m more nervous to actually have the material out there and to have people know that they are my words and my songs.
"I feel lucky to finally do the movies I want to do, and they’re my words and I’m proud of it, and you can sort of stand behind it with confidence and dive in headfirst." Moore insists she isn’t worried about people trying to analyse her lyrics for clues as to why she split with Braff saying, "I’m not really worried about it.
"People can infer what they want from the songs and that’s perfectly fine. I just know in a selfish way it was like therapy for me. "Whatever was going on in my life, just to be able to get it down and turn a negative situation into something I felt a little more positive about at the end of the day, it’s cathartic."

FOXX WANTED FANTASIA FOR DREAMGIRLS ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:10 pm

AMERICAN IDOL winner FANTASIA BARRINO desperately tried to win the role of EFFIE WHITE in DREAMGIRLS and even had co-star JAMIE FOXX backing her, before eventually losing out to JENNIFER HUDSON.
Foxx, who plays record boss CURTIS TAYLOR in the film, was pushing for Barrino to land the role, but director BILL CONDON had other ideas. Hudson, who was also a contestant on American Idol, recently scored an Oscar nomination for the role, but Barrino insists she isn’t bitter about missing out on the star-making part.
She tells Vibe Vixen magazine, "Everyone wanted me for that role except the director. But it wasn’t for me. I tried really hard. But I can’t even be mad.
That role was for Jennifer Hudson.
"I feel like I was meant to win American Idol. And I feel like J (Jennifer Hudson) was meant to play the Effie role."
