Pop star JESSICA SIMPSON has joined boyfriend singer JOHN MAYER for part of his tour in Florida.
The 26-year-old arrived in Miami early on Monday (22JAN07) to meet up with Mayer, 29, at the Four Seasons Hotel.
A source tells American publication Us Weekly, "Jessica flew in very early after a red-eye flight on Monday morning and spent the day with her boyfriend.
"They went to the gym and the spa before going out for the evening." The couple were spotted having a romantic sushi dinner at the Shore Club’s Nobu in South Beach and arrived at the restaurant holding hands.
The pair left at 11:30pm and spent the night together in the Four Seasons’ Presidential Suite. On Tuesday (23JAN07), they will board Mayer’s tour bus and travel together to Jacksonville, Florida, where Mayer is scheduled to perform on Thursday night (25JAN07).

KELSEY GRAMMER and PATRICIA HEATON are in talks to star as duelling news anchors in a new sitcom.
The half-hour show is being created by Grammer’s FRASIER producer CHRISTOPHER LLOYD and JUST SHOOT ME producer STEVEN LEVITAN.
ACTION NEWS revolves around the re-teaming of two local news anchors, to be played by Heaton and Grammer.
Grammer has been weighing the idea of a TV comeback for several months and has produced several series at US network CBS since his hit show ended its run.
Former EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND star Heaton is currently appearing in the off-Broadway play THE SCENE in New York City.

STEVEN SEAGAL and ERIKA ELENIAK are set to boost their flagging film fortunes by revisiting hit action movie UNDER SIEGE for a second sequel.
Eleniak has revealed plans to make UNDER SIEGE 3, and she hopes her former co-star, Seagal, will also sign up for the sequel.
Speaking to website ain’titcool.com, the former BAYWATCH star says, "I have seen a complete script for ‘US3′… (and) I must say I really wanted to hate it.
"For what it’s worth, I liked it a lot. It’s at least one of the most physical action-based shows I’ve looked at in a long time.
"It has nothing to do with airplanes… nothing to do with 9/11. It has nothing to do with boats or subs (submarines)… terrorists.
"There is great comic relief. There is non-stop ass-beatings being given out for free (and) there is the possibility of some women with clothing or lack-of issues (sic)." The actress confirms that Seagal, who played CASEY RYBACK in the hit 1992 original, has not yet agreed to do the film.

LATEST: Model CHRISTIE BRINKLEY and her estranged husband PETER COOK’s temporary custody agreement regarding visitation of their two kids has been extended after a tense face-off in court yesterday (22JAN07).
The former couple attended a hearing in Central Islip, Long Island in an attempt to resolve child custody and other issues in their divorce case.
They agreed to extend a temporary agreement, set up in November (06), regarding visitation of the children - the couple will continue with the temporary schedule until their next court date in May (07). After the court session, smiling Brinkley told reporters she is confident the court will rule in her favour eventually: "I have a wonderful judge. I have a lot of confidence in him… We have a wonderful lawyer representing the children and I’m hopeful everything will be resolved to their benefit." Brinkley filed for divorce from Cook last summer (06) after learning of his affair with a teenage assistant.

LATEST: The leader of America’s Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is willing to forgive disgraced GREY’S ANATOMY star ISAIAH WASHINGTON for his recent homophobic comments if the actor continues to prove he’s not anti-gay.
Washington met with GLAAD president NEIL GIULIANO and other gay community leaders yesterday (22JAN07) to address his recent public slur regarding castmate, TR KNIGHT.
The actor was reprimanded by gay rights leaders after using the derogatory word ‘faggot’ during a televised Golden Globes Awards press conference.
Washington has since apologised for his remarks and asked gay leaders for their help.
Giuliano admits he was impressed with his first meeting with Washington yesterday, and feels confident the actor means business when he insists he wants to clear his name and appease critics who were upset by his comments.
The GLAAD leader says, "Isaiah understands that he is going to be judged by more than just his apology.
"He knows that his future actions… will demonstrate his sincerity in becoming part of the solution to anti-gay bigotry. We welcome the opportunity to work with him in the coming months."

JENNIFER GARNER was thrilled to be cut out of the Golden Globe Awards telecast last Monday (15JAN07), because she feared she would fall onstage after a near-miss at the Academy Awards last year (06).
The former ALIAS star was scheduled to introduce a film clip in the best picture category, but was bumped when the show started to run late.
She explains, "I was supposed to present the clip for LITTLE CHILDREN, which is a beautiful movie and I was really excited to present the clip, except I slipped the last time I presented at the Oscars and almost fell on my tookus. I never get nervous doing stuff like that, but that kind of shook me a little bit. "Then I was a bridesmaid this summer at my friend’s wedding and I slipped going down the aisle in a big way. Then it started to be a psychosomatic thing.
"I was sure that I was going to slip, I was backstage,sweating, going over what I was supposed to say and I had taped my shoes onto my feet. "They (the producers) came running back and said, ‘We’ve run out of time! We’re running late, can we cut you? We’re so sorry! Are you upset?’ "I was like, ‘That’s great! That’s fine! Sorry Little Children, but I’m thrilled to not have to walk out there!’"

LATEST: SIDEWAYS writer-director ALEXANDER PAYNE has filed a response to ex-wife SANDRA OH’s divorce claim and is asking the court to deny the star any spousal support.
Oh, who plays DR CRISTINA YANG on hit TV series GREY’S ANATOMY, had requested spousal support when she initially filed for divorce in April 2005.
Their status as a married couple was officially terminated in December 2006, but they have yet to settle their finances.
The pair were married in January 2003 and announced their separation in March 2005.
Both parties cited irreconcilable differences as the cause for the split.

Former child star TATUM O’NEAL finds nothing wrong with DAKOTA FANNING appearing in a rape scene because the 12-year-old actress is just playing a part.
O’Neal was eight-years-old when she appeared in the film PAPER MOON with her father RYAN O’NEAL and was 10-years-old when she won an Oscar for her performance.
In the film HOUNDDOG, which is currently screening at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, Fanning plays a girl who endures a graphically suggested rape scene.
O’Neal explains, "I think it’s her parent’s decision. I think she is a real actress, she really is an actress.
"I think she’s probably very smart and she probably looked and the script and said that she felt it was OK for her to do as an actress. I think it’s OK." The star admits it would be a different story if her 15-year-old daughter wanted to appear in the film adding, "Would I let my daughter? No. But I’m her mother. Dakota’s mother thinks it’s OK."

HELEN MIRREN’s portrayal of THE QUEEN has turned the British actress into the hottest Oscar favourite ever.

Oscar winner-turned-hitmaker JAMIE FOXX is returning to his comedy roots and launching his own urban comedy, entertainment and lifestyle channel on Sirius Satellite Radio in the US.
The DREAMGIRLS star will serve as an executive producer, on-airhost and contributor to THE FOXXHOLE channel, which will feature comedic sketches, talk, radio theater and music.
He explains, "The Foxxhole will break new ground in comedy, blurring the lines between standup, sketch and music. "(The channel) gives me the opportunity to create urban entertainment and programming like you have never heard on the radio." Foxx will contribute to the show daily and report from wherever he happens to be in the world. He is currently on tour promoting UNPREDICTABLE, his 2006 album debut.

R&B star ALICIA KEYS recently took her first vacation as an adult - and travelled alone to spend some time getting to know herself.
The 25-year-old Grammy Award winner decided she needed a much needed break and reveled being by herself for a change.
She explains, "I took an incredible vacation. Three weeks - I went to Egypt and then I went to Italy. It’s my first vacation ever in my adult life and I went totally by myself.
"I saw the Valley of the Kings, the tombs, the temples, I swam in the Mediterranean sea, I sailed down the Nile, it was amazing. I went to breakfast by myself and lunch by myself and dinner.
"It was great. I loved it. I would go to the restaurant and the waiter would say, ‘Are you waiting for someone?’ And I would say, ‘No.’ "They probably thought I was strange, but I loved it, I really did. I could just sit there and observe people’s conversations and I just took it easy. "For me it was just the perfect time. I really needed it."

Former ‘N SYNC star JC CHASEZ fears fans will read too much into his new single UNTIL YESTERDAY, which follows the story of a guy who discovers his girlfriend is expecting another man’s baby.
Chasez wrote the song with former bandmate JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, who also produced the tune, but insists neither he nor his pop star pal have experienced such an adultery dilemma.
He tells MTV News, "It’s not autobiographical. We just wanted to push the limits.
"It just seems like everybody has heard a break-up song a hundred times or a thousand times. And they’ve heard, ‘I don’t like you anymore’ a thousand times, or ‘You make me sick, you used me, blah blah blah.’ "We thought we’d pepper it with some drama and it made it an interesting song."

Volatile Scottish cult band THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN are reuniting for the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California.
The band, who called it quits in 1998, will perform together at the festival 27-29 April (07).
They join RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and CROWDED HOUSE as notable bands coming back together to play at the festival.

SYLVESTER STALLONE has proved he’s still a movie heavyweight by battling to the top of the UK box office with fighting film ROCKY BALBOA.
The sixth installment of the ROCKY series left the competition bruised by raking in £3.6 million ($7.2 million) since its Friday (19JAN07) release.
