McCARTNEY AND MILLS: ‘NO DIVORCE SETTLEMENT YET’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:01 pm

LATEST: SIR PAUL McCARTNEY’s estranged wife HEATHER MILLS has denied reports she’s agreed to a £32 million ($63 million) divorce settlement with the former BEATLE.
British newspaper News Of The World claimed yesterday (21JAN07) McCartney and Mills had agreed a financial settlement after a bitter six month battle, but Mills’ solicitors Mishcon de Reya have denied the report.
The law firm said, "With regard to the article in yesterday’s News Of The World, we would like to state that there has been no offer made whatsoever at any time to our client and therefore no settlement has been agreed." The HEY JUDE singer split from his second wife Mills in May last year (06) after four years of marriage, and the pair began divorce proceedings in July (06).

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:58 pm

THE WEST WING actor RICHARD SCHIFF regrets signing on to the hit US political drama for its entire run, because he feels it outran its popularity.
Schiff, 51, also insists he may have reconsidered taking on the role of TOBY ZIEGLER if he had known the show would air for so long.
He says, "At times I think it was the best thing on television, but no show can sustain itself for seven years.
"For me it was too damn long. If I’d known the series would last that long, I’d have picked a more fun-loving person to play! "It was tough carrying the burden of a character with so much integrity. I became desperate to be someone new."

  • THE ROCK: ‘TODAY’S ACTION MOVIE STARS ARE MORE PHYSICAL’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:58 pm

Action man DWAYNE ‘THE ROCK’ JOHNSON has lavished praise on today’s movie tough guys, insisting they have "more physicality" than their predecessors ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER, SYLVESTER STALLONE and BRUCE WILLIS.
The former wrestler believes this generation’s action stars have what it takes because they come from a fighting background.
He says, "I think today’s tough guys have a bit more physicality to them. I’m friends with Arnold, Stallone and Bruce Willis.
"But, for example, JASON STATHAM, who I love by the way, knows martial arts.
There’s no faking what he’s doing. I was lucky to come from a fighting background."

  • MILLER WON’T SACRIFICE FOOD FOR MOVIE CAREER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:55 pm

Hollywood actress SIENNA MILLER will never change her diet for a film role, insisting she needs to eat properly to keep her energy up if she is to work so hard.
The 25-year-old plays ANDY WARHOL’s muse EDIE SEDGEWICK in biopic FACTORY GIRL - and was told to lose weight for the part.
But, despite persistence from director GEORGE HICKENLOOPER, the British beauty is unwilling to sacrifice her love of food for the camera.

Former BLUR frontman DAMON ALBARN is sick of the "suspicion" surrounding his constant changes of musical direction - and insists he’s glad to regularly reinvent himself.
The PARKLIFE frontman has worked on several musical projects over the last few years, including two albums with Grammy Award-winning virtual band GORILLAZ and new group THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE QUEEN - but insists he invests each project with real meaning and integrity.
The 38-year-old says "I’ve always been frustrated by this suspicion that because I’m able to do a lot of things, that somehow I don’t really mean it, which is just bulls**t.
"For some people, the image and artifice of music gets a bit too much and they retreat into a persona. I don’t know if it’s wealth or ego or fame… I’ve managed to avoid that one."

  • HUDSON: ‘CONDON TOLD ME TO BE RUDE TO PEOPLE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:52 pm

JENNIFER HUDSON was encouraged to unleash her inner diva by DREAMGIRLS director BILL CONDON, because she wasn’t rude enough to play the star role.
Condon was so keen for singer/actress Hudson, who plays EFFIE WHITE in the film, to have more of an intimidating presence onscreen he even told her to be rude to the movie musical’s crew. But the KINSEY director’s unusual tactics paid off when Hudson won a Golden Globe for her role in the film earlier this month (JAN07).
She recalls, "Bill told me, ‘Look, you’re too professional, you’re too nice.’ Because that’s me, you know? I’m a polite, well-brought-up girl. So he said, ‘Stop apologising, show up late, barge in, get angry, throw something, find that emotion, connect with anger and give me some outrage.’ "He’d have me walk into the rehearsal and be rude to people. We had to get to this point when Effie had this presence, where nothing started till she walked in the room. Once we’d got there it became fun."

  • FALL OUT BOY BLAME ‘VULTURES’ FOR ALBUM LEAK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:49 pm

FALL OUT BOY are devastated their new album INFINITY ON HIGH has been found on the internet, blaming music "vultures" for the leak.
The DANCE, DANCE stars are appalled at the premature release of their LP two weeks before the official release date - which features production from KANYE WEST and an appearance by SHAWN ‘JAY-Z’ CARTER.
Bassist PETE WENTZ says, "This isn’t the end of the world, (but) it certainly feels pretty terrible.
Despite their anger, the band admitted they could sympathise with eager fans, but Wentz warns that if the practice of illegal downloads continues, Fall Out Boy could be forced out of the industry.
He adds, "We understand those who have to sneak a peek at the presents under the tree the night before, but please remember that as the music industry changes more and more, we only put out a record so we can keep touring and travelling. We want to keep this going for as long as possible.
"It is unfortunate that a couple of vultures in a plant somewhere can ruin this vision so easily."

  • THE GAME CANCELS AFRICAN TOUR DATES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:49 pm

Rapper THE GAME has cancelled a series of tour dates in Luanda, Angola - just days after postponing several Canadian concerts because of legal issues in New York City (16JAN07).
Promoters with the Angola Show Agency today (22JAN07) confirmed the DREAMS star - born JAYCEON TAYLOR - had cancelled this weekend’s (27-28JAN) shows in the African country, blaming it on alleged scheduling conflicts, reports AllHipHop.com.
However, The Game pulled out of a gig in Ontario, Canada on Thursday (18JAN07), after a warrant was issued for his arrest following his failure to appear in a New York court last week (begs15JAN07). The hearing relates to his arrest last November (06), when he was allegedly caught impersonating a police officer.
African organisers plan to negotiate new concert dates with the rapper for later this month (JAN07) or early next month (FEB07), and have offered refunds to fans who bought tickets for the postponed gigs.

Uma Thurman is set to front a £20 million advertisement campaign for Virgin Media.
The ‘Pulp Fiction’ actress is the face of a marketing campaign, which will air next month, announcing to customers that digital TV, telephone and internet service provider NTL has been re-branded as Virgin Media.
NTL merged with Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Mobile company last year in a £961 million deal.
James Kydd, managing director of Virgin Media marketing, said: "We are thrilled that Uma will be helping us launch the most exciting and the biggest Virgin branded company in the world." The merger sees Virgin Media become the UK’s first "quadruple play" media company - combining TV, fixed line telephone, broadband internet and mobile phones.
Uma, 36, is not the first big name star to front a Virgin campaign.
Pamela Anderson and Kate Moss have both featured in advertisements for Virgin Mobile.

  • Mika hates being famous as much as he hated school.

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 4:51 pm

The ‘Grace Kelly’ singer admits the first celebrity party he went to felt like he was back in the school playground when he was the new boy who no one would talk to.
Mika - who claimed the coveted number one spot in the UK singles chart last weekend - said: "I went to a party full of famous people, Elton John, people like that, and it felt like school.

"Everyone standing in packs and me wandering around like the new boy. People snubbing me, being catty to me. It was like a club I didn’t belong to. I don ‘t think I want to belong."

The Lebanese-born singer was bullied at school for wearing bow ties and matching bright-coloured shirts.
Mika said: "I was a show-off as a kid. A bit weird. But I had that beaten out of me by everyone I was at school with."

The 23-year-old revealed his mother kept him at home from his first English school for six months because of the teasing.
He said: "They didn’t like my long hair and they said I had an airport accent."

Pamela Anderson has protested against plans to put Colonel Sanders on a stamp.
The actress - an active member of animal rights group PETA - has written an angry letter to the US Postmaster General blasting the request of fast-food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC).
She wrote: "Honouring a man whose legacy involves breaking animals’ bones and scalding animals to death in defeathering tanks is contrary to the values of most compassionate citizens, and I hope that you’ll deny KFC’s request. How about another Elvis stamp instead?" This not the first time the former ‘Baywatch’ star has protested against the fast-food giant.
Last year, Pamela called for a Colonel Sanders statue to be destroyed because it was a daily reminder of cruelty to chickens.
Pamela, who petitioned Governor of Kentucky Ernie Fletcher on behalf of PETA, wrote: "The bust of Colonel Sanders stands as a monument to cruelty and has no place in the Kentucky State Capitol." Pamela also accused KFC bosses of "mutilating God’s creatures" by fattening chickens up to make succulent burgers.
The 39-year-old’s request was rejected by Governor Fletcher, who described Sanders as a "Kentucky icon".

The ‘Dirrty’ singer scooped International Female Artist of the Year and International Album of the Year, for ‘Back to Basics’, at the ceremony in Cannes - which is France’s equivalent of the BRITs.
But according to insiders, the two awards weren’t enough to make Christina happy. She was left furious when she lost out on her number-one choice of hotel suite to Gwen Stefani.
Christina had her sights set on the £3,000-a-night presidential suite at the Carlton hotel on the seafront, but was forced to settle for a £2,000-a-night suite at the Martinez instead, after mum-of-one Gwen booked it first.
It was the hotel staff at the Martinez that paid for the fiery pop superstar ’s disappointment.
A porter told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: "We took all her bags up to her room but we didn’t even get a tip. We took flowers up as well and still, nothing." Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:41 pm

The 25-year-old star was so overwhelmed when she saw Diana Ross - who Beyoncé’s ‘Dreamgirls’ character is loosely based on - that she was too nervous to speak to her.
Beyoncé told Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I was so nervous, it was like she wasn’t real.
"She is such a legend, and I had been studying her for so long, and suddenly she was right next to me.
"I was too nervous to say anything because I didn’t know how she felt about the movie, but she told me she was a big fan and wishes me luck. I felt I could breathe again." ‘Dreamgirls’, which was inspired by the true story of 60s singing sensations Diana Ross and The Supremes, is Beyoncé’s biggest movie role to date.
The multi-talented star shot to fame with girl group ‘Destiny’s Child’ before having huge success as a solo artist.
Beyoncé, whose is rumoured to be engaged to US rapper Jay-Z, is hoping ‘Dreamgirls’ will be a real boost for her movie career.
She also revealed she may focus on acting rather than singing in the future.
Beyoncé said: "After this movie, I feel that I’m an actor.
"If there’s another movie like this that I’m able to be a part of, then I would be willing to put music to the side."
