The singer was warned exhaustion would take its toll if she pushed herself too hard so soon after being given the all-clear from the potentially life-threatening illness, but Kylie insisted on adding extra dates to her ‘Showgirl Homecoming’ tour so as not to let fans down.
A source revealed: "She was told to rest up for several months. But nobody could stop her." After collapsing on stage at Manchester’s MEN Arena last Saturday (13.01.07) - the 29th show of strenuous 33-date tour of the UK and Australia - Kylie has been ordered by doctors "not to perform in the immediate future".
The 38-year-old pop superstar is said to be suffering from flu.
Despite doctors’ advice and the concerns of her family and friends, Kylie is eager for the show to go on.
A source close to Kylie’s family said: "Everyone wants her to put her work on the back burner for a while and just rest." Performances planned for Monday (15.01.07) and Tuesday (16.01.07) have been re-scheduled for Sunday (21.01.07) and next Monday (22.01.07).
