50 CENT SLAMS G-UNIT RUMOURS
Hip-hop star 50 CENT has hit out at claims his G-Unit company is on the brink of collapse, maintaining a slip in album sales is nothing to worry about.
The rapper recently announced plans to expand the company with a gritty street fiction range of books, but the unusual move has led some to question the company’s direction, and whether the hip-hop novellas can compensate for recent poor record sales.
But 50 Cent is adamant his efforts can save the company.
He tells MTV, "I heard them talking on the radio about G-Unit is over, because they seeing some of the artists having difficulties.
"What you’re seeing is the music business. Nothing just works in the music business. There’s no company that has had a higher success rate than G-Unit since I showed up. I’ve accomplished what took people 10 years to do in business, in three.
"One project doesn’t work and G-Unit is over? What about 50? Put that pressure on me. Cause I’mma smash their head as soon as I come back." The rapper’s forthcoming album, BEFORE I SELF DESTRUCT, is tentatively due for release this spring (07).
