BRITNEY SPEARS and KEVIN FEDERLINE have agreed to share custody of their sons JAYDEN JAMES and SEAN PRESTON for the remainder of January (07).
Spears has agreed to let her estranged husband have physical custody of the boys every Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon at her home.
Under the arrangement, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Spears will be allowed to be present for her husband’s playtime with his kids - but she won’t be able to prevent him from seeing the boys, aged one and four months.
In return for his estranged wife’s custody terms, Federline has given Spears permission to take the children to Florida for a week.
The pair is expected to use the month as a testing ground for future custody arrangements. They will decide on custody matters from February and beyond later this month (JAN07).
Spears and Federline split in November (06), two years after they exchanged vows.

LATEST: BEYONCE KNOWLES’ publicists are playing down reports the singer/actress is distraught after discovering she has been disqualified from the Oscars’ Best Song category, insisting the star always knew she’d miss out on a nod.
Academy Awards rules stipulate only three people can be officially nominated for each Best Song - and judges are forced to pick the trio who contributed most to the tune.
That means Beyonce misses out because she merely added a few finishing touches to the hit song LISTEN from the DREAMGIRLS soundtrack.
According to the Academy, HENRY KRIEGER, ANNE PREVEN and SCOTT CUTLER will be recognised as the songwriters.
But Beyonce’s publicist ALAN NIEROB insists his client always knew she’d miss out on a Best Song Oscar nod.
He says, "Beyonce is aware of the Oscar rule that says only three songwriters can be nominated. It’s all about percentages how much each person contributed to the song.
"Beyonce contributed greatly to Listen, but her percentage is lower, so she didn’t expect to be eligible for nomination. She’s very happy that her co-writers may be recognised."

LOST star MATTHEW FOX is determined to make sure 2007 is the year he finally quits smoking - because he’s sick of hiding his bad habit from his kids.
The actor, who plays hunky castaway JACK SHEPHARD on the hit TV drama, admits he’s been battling to give up for years but stress always drives him back to his nicotine addiction.
But now, as his kids grow older and wiser, it’s beginning to get harder and harder to hide the fact their father smokes.
He says, "This year is going to be the year that I quit smoking. I go through periods where I smoke a lot… It’s been a battle for me for a lot of years and I’m really tired of it and I just feel terrible about it.
"I have kids and trying to hide it from them, I just, honestly, feel terrible about it."

CLIVE OWEN’s new movie CHILDREN OF MEN has joined the Oscars race after leading the pack at the influential Austin Film Critics Association Awards.
The movie missed out the Best Film prize, which went to 9/11 dramatisation UNITED 93, but it was named among the 10 best films of 2006, and claimed three major honours.
ALFONSO CUARON was named Best Director and the Mexican filmmaker and his four co-screenwriters also grabbed the award for Best Adapted Screenplay. EMMANUEL LUBEZKI won Best Cinematography for his innovative camera work in the film.

Tycoon-turned-media mogul DONALD TRUMP is considering allowing troubled MISS USA to pose scantily-clad in men’s magazine Playboy less than a month after he insisted the party-loving beauty queen ditch her wild ways.
Trump, the owner of the Miss USA pageant, announced he would allow TARA CONNER to complete her reign if she signed up for a rehabilitation stint and curbed her wild ways after she hit the headlines for hard partying in New York’s bars.
Conner, who sobbed when she heard the news, has since checked into a rehab facility and has promised to behave like a model Miss USA.
But despite his stance that Conner should live a cleaner lifestyle from now on, Trump has confessed he’s considering an offer from Playboy bosses to let the beauty queen pose in the pages of their magazine.
He says, "Playboy wants to have Tara on the cover (and) we’re thinking about it.
"It wouldn’t be nude… I would never want a thing like that to happen.
"(Playboy) is a very important magazine for a certain group and… 10 years ago, five years ago, if you said, `He wouldn’t even be thinking about it,’ today, it’s a different world."

Former FRASIER star BEBE NEUWIRTH returned to Broadway’s CHICAGO on New Year’s Eve (31DEC06) with a new hip.
The actress, who turned 48 on the same day, had her "strange" hip replaced last May (06) and her recovery went so well she decided it was time to return to the musical, for which she earned a 1997 Tony Award.
She reveals she damaged cartilage while performing in the musical THE CHORUS LINE when she was 21 and she has suffered hip problems ever since.
She says, "I’ve had a strange hip for a while… It bothered me every once in a while… and it never really got better." Neuwirth was suffering agonizing pain last year (06) and that prompted her to get the surgery she’d been told she’d need.
After getting a new titanium hip in May (06), the actress used ballet classes to help her recovery - and quickly felt that she could tackle another Broadway show.
She adds, "I wanted to get out and wiggle again."

JAMES BROWN’s angry widow has blasted the soul legend’s children for allegedly digging up her husband’s body after burying him without including her.

"Then they pulled it back out and put in the funeral home because they found out that I was angry that I wasn’t invited to them putting them in the ground until they’d built the mausoleum." Hynie claims Brown wanted to be laid to rest in a mausoleum on the grounds of his home in South Carolina.

Rocker COURTNEY LOVE has a new look for the New Year after reportedly undergoing rhinoplasty and lip surgery during a pre-Christmas (06) trip to France.
Sources claim the former HOLE star visited a surgeon in Paris, who specialises in fixing cosmetic disasters.
A friend of Love, who has sported collagen-pumped lips for years, tells America’s Us Weekly magazine, "She’s happy to have her mouth back." Love fuelled the surgery reports on Thursday night (04JAN07) when she arrived at the premiere of HILARY SWANK’s new movie FREEDOM WRITERS looking swollen.
Asked if she had undergone surgery in France, Love said, "I’m not going to comment on that tonight. I just think me looking human is cool." Ironically, Love announced she’d be giving up plastic surgery as part of a list of New Year’s Resolutions she posted on her website.
She vowed, "No more surgery for any reason other than medical until I really need it in my 60s."
