ALBARN SLAMS COCKER’S ‘DISTURBING’ STAGE ANTICS
DAMON ALBARN has blasted former PULP frontman JARVIS COCKER, branding his antics during MICHAEL JACKSON’s performance at the 1996 Brit Awards "disturbing". Jackson was performing EARTH SONG at the awards ceremony surrounded by worshipping children when the COMMON PEOPLE hitmaker famously invaded the stage to protest against his "Christ-like" poses - but Albarn thinks he went too far.
He rants, "I found it really disturbing when he pulled his pants down in front of Michael Jackson - that just seemed really wrong. If someone is sick, he’s not open to ridicule."
