No to 2007
A group of French protestors gathered on New Year’s Eve to say "No to 2007".
The troupe gathered in Nantes brandishing banners reading "Now is better!" and shouting their objections to the arrival of the new year.
One of the organisers said: "The world will come to understand that it must stop this mad course towards the future and we demand the governments of the world and the United Nations declare a moratorium to stop this December 31 the future." Once midnight sounded the group started shouting "No to 2008!" Organisers also vowed to protest against plans for a New Year’s Eve parade to be held on Paris’ Champs-Elysees on December 31, 2007.
