MERCHANT BEMOANS GERVAIS’ STAR APPEAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:06 am

British funnyman STEPHAN MERCHANT is jealous his EXTRAS co-star RICKY GERVAIS boasts more celebrity friends than he does.
Merchant, who also worked with Gervais on hit show THE OFFICE, can’t understand why he is continually overlooked by A-list stars.
He says, "It annoys me I’m not being taken under the wing of various celebrities.
"When Ricky became famous he got a lot of showbiz pals. That hasn’t happened to me - they must feel I can’t bring anything to the party." And Merchant is so frustrated fame hasn’t transformed him into an overnight sex symbol, he’s considering a career change to boost his pulling power.
He adds, "If I was a rock star, I think people would find me more attractive.
I knew very few women in college with WOODY ALLEN posters on their walls."
