LOU RAWLS JR is suing MARVIN GAYE III, claiming he was attacked by the latter’s four dogs.
In court documents filed in Los Angeles County and obtained by Internet site TMZ.com, Rawls Jr states he was "attacked, bit, clawed, and physically and mentally injured," and suffered, "pain, injury, loss of blood, tearing of flesh, multiple dog bite wounds, fear of disease and other and further great and considerable harm, damage, injury and loss." According to the suit, Rawls Jr was visiting Gaye’s property at the time of the alleged attack.

NICOLE KIDMAN has cut short a New Year vacation to Australia after complaining of paparazzi harassment there.
The actress and husband KEITH URBAN flew back to Los Angeles yesterday (01JAN07) just days after arriving in Sydney.
Kidman called upon the local police to protect the pair from the prying eyes of photographers - after an angry clash with a freelance snapper on the way to their holiday home in the city.
But the pair were forced to relocate to Kidman’s sister’s home in Sydney after photographers kept siege outside the luxury pad.
In the end the couple gave up and jetted back to their California home, after seeing in the New Year down under.

LATEST: BRITNEY SPEARS’ estranged husband KEVIN FEDERLINE has triumphed in his first official match as a wrestler, beating World Wrestling Entertainment star JOHN CENA in 10 minutes.
The aspiring rapper claimed victory at Miami, Florida’s American Airlines Arena on Monday (01JAN07) night, and at one point he managed to get Cena, one of wrestling’s biggest names, into a headlock and a Masterlock/Full Nelson, according to MTV.com.
Federline won the bout when Cena’s wrestling rival UMAGA entered the ring and attacked Cena with a championship belt. As the Federline-Cena match was set up as a no-disqualification fight, Umaga’s intrusion was deemed "fair play" allowing Federline to claim victory.
Federline says, "I did shock the world when I beat John Cena. Cena, I can see you. You can’t see me."

Supermodel KATE MOSS has slammed reports she married boyfriend PETE DOHERTY on New Year’s Day (01JAN07), branding their Thailand trip "just a holiday".
Moss and troubled BABYSHAMBLES rocker Doherty were reported to have wed in a Phuket beach villa, but a spokesperson for Moss, STUART HIGGINS, insists the stars were enjoying time off.
He says, "Contrary to various entirely false media reports, there has not been any kind of marriage ceremony in Thailand. She is on holiday." The couple are reportedly planning a wedding ceremony in England, thought to be set for 18 January this year (07).

Hit 2005 movie MR & MRS SMITH, which starred BRAD PITT and ANGELINA JOLIE, is to be turned into a TV series by US TV network ABC.
The series will reunite director DOUG LIMAN and writer SIMON KINBERG, but there are no details as to who will take the starring roles.
The action will pick up six months after events in the film, with the Smiths dealing with marital issues in a new house in a new suburb while trying to re-establish their careers.
Kinberg says, "In a way, the show is all about the marriage. It is a show about any married couple trying to balance professional and home life." US TV network CBS launched a version of MR & MRS SMITH in 1996, featuring a similar plot, but it was scrapped after just two months.

British actress EMILY WATSON was so impressed with the "lovely" script of new movie MISS POTTER she felt compelled to interrupt a planned career break.
After giving birth to her daughter JULIET in November 2005, the GOSFORD PARK star was determined to take a rest from the stresses of the acting world and settle down into family life.
However, she was tempted away from domestic bliss by the prospect of working with BABE director CHRIS NOONAN on the new film about the life of children’s author BEATRIX POTTER.
She recalls, "I’d just had my first child, she was only a few months old and I said, ‘You must be joking. Go away! I’m not leaving the house.’ "(But) I read the script and thought, ‘Gosh, this is lovely’, so I managed to get out of my dressing gown for a few days’ filming.
"Babe was completely charming, with a lightness of touch, a wit and self-knowledge that is missing from the Disney equivalent, and I just knew that Miss Potter would have the same light, quirky feel to it."

Martial arts movie star JACKIE CHAN is planning to make 10 new films after setting up a new production company in China.
The RUSH HOUR actor has revealed he is scouting for new talent and ideas on his website, and he has also announced he is making an advert with retired boxer GEORGE FOREMAN in China.
Chan, who is currently filming RUSH HOUR 3, explains, "I need to meet the directors. I need to read the screenplays and listen to ideas for more screenplays."

Golfing ace TIGER WOODS and wife ELIN NORDEGREN are expecting their first child this summer (07).
Woods broke the happy news on his website on Saturday (30DEC06), admitting he wishes his dad EARL WOODS, who died of cancer in May (06), was alive to share his joy.
Woods married the stunning Swede in October 2004, revealing at the time the couple wanted children "sooner rather than later".

Price - also known as JORDAN - and husband PETER ANDRE are currently at the partially blind child’s bedside at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Price’s manager CLAIRE POWELL says, "Harvey is now in a stable condition, but that’s all I know. I haven’t spoken to Pete or Katie because they’re at the hospital with him constantly.
"They’re with him 24-7 and their phones are off. I don’t know how it happened, but I got a text from them to say that he’s in a stable condition.
They are devastated but they are being strong for Harvey." It is not clear how or where Harvey, whose father is soccer star DWIGHT YORKE, was burned.

US talk show queen OPRAH WINFREY today (02JAN07) opened a school for disadvantaged girls in South Africa, fulfilling a promise she made to former South African President NELSON MANDELA six years ago.
The $40 million (£20.4 million) Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, situated in the small town of Henley-on-Klip, south of Johannesburg, aims to give 152 girls from deprived backgrounds a high quality education.
The opening was attended by singers TINA TURNER, MARY J BLIGE and MARIAH CAREY, actors SIDNEY POITIER and CHRIS TUCKER, and director SPIKE LEE.
Mandela said in a statement, "This is a lady that has, despite her own disadvantaged background, become one of the benefactors of the disadvantaged throughout the world." At a press conference to mark the opening, Winfrey said she hoped the school would "change the face of a nation. Girls who are educated are less likely to get AIDS and in this country which has such a pandemic, we have to begin to change the pandemic.
"I wanted to give this opportunity to girls who had a light so bright that not even poverty could dim that light."

SYSTEM OF A DOWN rocker DARON MALAKIAN is proud his band spoke out against the war in Iraq because so few others had the courage to do the same.
The guitarist was personally affected by the war - members of his family were living in Iraq at the time of the US invasion - so he felt compelled to oppose the war publicly.
He says, "I don’t know if people know but a lot of my family live in Iraq. So I’ve spent a lot of time trying to get people out. Some people I’ve got out and some people I haven’t.
"So for me war is more of a reality than it is for most people. But at the same time I can’t help feeling, yeah, a certain amount of pride that we stood up there and said what we did. Lots of band are speaking out against the Iraq situation now, but back then there weren’t so many of them.
"We kind of felt on our own up there. A lot of people weren’t as courageous as we were, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel proud about that."

Veteran Spanish crooner JULIO IGLESIAS has confessed he has undergone cosmetic surgery, but insists the surgeon’s knife is too risky to tempt him again.
The 63-year-old star admits he had his jawline tightened up several years ago, but he has ruled out further work because he wants to keep his famous Latin looks.
He admits, "Six years ago I had cosmetic surgery in America. It wasn’t a face-lift. It was a small operation to tighten up my jawline, although I wouldn’t recommend it.
"The danger is that the surgeon probably doesn’t know you well enough so you can end up not looking like you."

BLUR frontman DAMON ALBARN is refusing to make peace with longtime rival, OASIS’ NOEL GALLAGHER - because it will mean the end of an era.

A woman who broke into former BEATLE GEORGE HARRISON’s Hawaii home in 1999 has been found dead in Truckee, California.
The body of 34-year-old CRISTIN KELEHER was found in a car with that of 48-year-old STANLEY EVERETT MERCHANT on 19 December (06) after an apparent murder-suicide.
Nevada County Sheriff’s SERGEANT SHANNON MOON reveals, "From the investigation it appears that she was shot first and then he shot himself, so it is a murder-suicide." Keleher hit the headlines in December 1999 after entering Harrison’s Maui estate and cooking herself a frozen pizza, doing some laundry and calling her mother on the telephone. She later served four months in prison for burglary and theft after the prosecution successfully claimed she’d been stalking Harrison for years.

British singing star GEORGE MICHAEL has been named the highest paid entertainer in Russian history - making £1.5 million ($2.9 million) for a 60 minute musical performance.
