SPIKE LEE’s brother CHRISTOPHER is furious the director won’t let him sell a piece of land he is legally entitled to so he can avoid being evicted from his home.
Christopher claims he has been forced to go on welfare and is being thrown out of his Brooklyn, New York apartment because his brother refuses to help him financially.
He claims his brother is controlling the rights to a valuable piece of land set aside by their grandmother, which was to be divided equally among the five Lee siblings.
Christopher tells American publication National Enquirer, "I asked him…advance me the value of the land, bro." He says the 49-year-old MALCOLM X director replied, "I’m not giving you a dime." The famed director hits back at the claims saying, "My brother’s statements to the Enquirer are falsehoods. Nonetheless, my siblings and I still love him.
"I’m not the first nor will I be the last public figure who will be accused by a sibling of not doing enough. My question is, ‘When is enough enough?’"

Former heavyweight boxing champion MIKE TYSON has been released on bail and will be charged with felony drug possession after being arrested on Friday (29DEC06).
Police in Arizona stopped Tyson, 40, after he left a Scottsdale nightclub at 1:45 am on Friday and his car nearly collided with a sheriff’s vehicle.
According to Sgt LARRY HALL, "He showed signs of impairment and voluntarily submitted to field sobriety tests." Tyson showed "more signs of impairment" during the tests and was subsequently arrested and booked at a Maricopa County sheriff’s jail after officers allegedly found cocaine on Tyson and in his car.
According to website TMZ.com, the arresting officer said that after stopping Tyson he "stated he is an addict and has a problem".
Tests reveal he was "under the influence of a depressant, stimulant and cannabis".
The boxer’s most famous brush with the law was a rape conviction that landed him in jail from 1992 to 1995 for a 1991 sexual assault on a woman in an Indiana hotel room.
Earlier this year (06), Tyson checked into rehab at a treatment facility in Arizona.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE had to adopt an "in-your-face" attitude when releasing his song SEXYBACK in order to make it convincing.
The 25-year-old knew he would be savaged by critics if he couldn’t pull off the song’s sultry vibe.
He explains, "If you make a record like that, you have to say, ‘Yeah, I’m doing it - deal with it!’ You kind of have to grab your balls." The song was a huge hit and even became a part of popular culture with former US Vice President AL GORE referencing it during the MTV Video Music Awards saying, "MTV explained to me that Justin Timberlake is bringing sexy back, so here I am." Timberlake adds, "That felt cool to me. But it’s like, ‘God, I don’t want to be known as the SexyBack guy.’ That’s when you know it’s time to release your second single."

British newcomers ARCTIC MONKEYS have been voted the Band of 2006 by more than 3,000 users of music website ContactMusic.Com.
The UK-based site’s music poll of the year awarded the group two top prizes Band Of The Year and Best Album - for their debut, WHATEVER PEOPLE SAY I AM, THAT’S WHAT I’M NOT.
Other winners this year are THE KILLERS for their comeback single WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG, LILLY ALLEN and GNARLS BARKLEY.

Country music star KEITH URBAN’s distinctive tattoos could be the key to proving claims the singer cheated on wife NICOLE KIDMAN are false.
US model AMANDA WYATT, 23, claims she had an affair with Urban while he was engaged to Kidman, a charge which he has denied.
Urban updated a tattoo he had on his wrist when he began dating the MOULIN ROUGE actress nearly two years ago.
The singer and ex-girlfriend NIKI TAYLOR each had "Love Conquers All" in Latin tattooed on their wrist when they were dating in 2002.
When he began dating Kidman he changed the tattoo into a "Celtic band" to get rid of the last remains of his relationship with the 1990s supermodel.
In published photographs of Urban with Wyatt all traces of a tattoo on his wrist have been covered, which has raised doubts over the timing of the alleged affair and how old the photos are.
Urban and Kidman are currently in Sydney, Australia, where he is taking a break from his stint in a California rehab centre.

Belgian people were thrown into panic after a hoax news report claimed the country had been "abolished".
The spoof newsflash, which interrupted normal programming on the French-language TV channel RTBF, alleged that the Dutch-speaking Flanders region had declared independence and Belgium no longer existed.
The report featured footage of crowds cheering and waving Flemish flags at the new boarder.
Some Belgians were so taken-in by the joke that they contacted the government for clarification.
A spokesman for Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt said: "It was in very bad taste. It scared many people."

A UK police force have been asked to chase away a pigeon, deliver a pizza and deal with a large owl.
The collection of bizarre complaints are just a few of the time-waster emergency calls Devon and Cornwall Police have recently received.
Another woman dialled 999 because her trousers didn’t fit, one called because their phone battery had run out and another complained about a large owl on a telegraph pole.
Chief Inspector Nick Jarrold said: "There is a funny side, but I don’t know what goes through their heads when they dial 999 to ask about changing their trousers.
"An emergency call is when it is a life-or-death situation, people are injured or the baddies are still at the scene."

A US man who booby trapped his bedroom door to stop his wife coming in, has been charged with third-degree domestic battery.
Herbert Caldwell, from Arkansas, attached an electric fence to his doorknob via a metal coathanger, so when his wife touched the handle she completed an electrical circuit and 110 volts were sent through her body.
Police were called to the Caldwell residence three times in three days.
Caldwell, 44, has also been charged with installation of a booby trap and ‘terroristic threatening’.

A drunken UK businessman who fell asleep on a railway track, has been fined and sentenced to 180 hours’ community service.
Kevin Craswell had consumed a large quantity of vodka before stumbling onto the line near Epsom last March.
Rail staff took half an hour to wake him, and the occurrence disrupted train services for four hours.
Craswell pleaded guilty to "obstructing the railway by neglect" and last week, he was ordered to pay £560 compensation and given an 18 months’ community order in addition to the community service.

A clumsy Canadian robber was arrested after falling through the roof of a store he was attempting to rob.
The man entered the store in Edmonton, Alberta and demanded the clerk give him money.
But before the cash register had been opened the impatient robber hit it with an aluminium bat – jamming it shut.
While he tried to force the till open the clerk escaped and found some back up.
The group then managed to block and lock both the front and back exits.
It a last-ditch attempt to make his get-away, the robber climbed onto the roof, but he was too heavy and came crashing through the store’s ceiling.
Lisa Lammi, of the Edmonton police, said: "He seemed to be having some complications along the way."

Passengers on a Saudi Arabian flight were thrown into panic after 80 rats swarmed the plane.
The rodents escaped from a leather rucksack brought onboard the Saudi Airlines flight to Tabuk by a passenger.
The furry creatures started running riot when the plane was flying at 25,000ft.
The captain notified ground staff of the incident and a specialist team was brought in to deal with the rats.
The man responsible only owned up to his misdemeanour when the plane had landed.
He was handed over to security authorities and the case is being investigated.

Residents of a sunlight-starved Italian village are rejoicing after a giant mirror has been erected to solve their problem.
The tiny town of Viganella, nestled in the Ossola valley, is plunged into darkness during the winter months as the surrounding mountains cut out the sunlight.
However, now the village is basking in rays thanks to an eight-by-five meter computer-driven mirror positioned on one side of the valley which follows the sun’s path and reflects light back.
Mayor Pierfranco Midali said: "It wasn’t easy, we had to find the proper material, learn about the technology and especially find the money." The seven-year project cost almost £67,166 (100,000 Euros).

A 91-year-old man became the UK’s oldest paraglider after flying 800 feet through the air.
Reg Rose-Innes took part in a twenty minute tandem flight above Devil’s Dyke in West Sussex.
Retired ecologist, Reg, from Beddingham in East Sussex, said: "It was marvellous being in the air." His 57-year-old son Crispin arranged for his father to fulfil his dream.
Crispin said: "I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity for my father to have a go before he bites the bullet."

A hornet in Malaysia is being held responsible for overturning a tanker and flooding a road with highly corrosive acid.
The driver of the lorry, carrying 15 tonnes of hydrochloric acid, was stung on the back by a hornet, causing him to slam on his brakes and topple the tanker.
Driver S. Pachiapan said: "I tried to shoo it away but the next instant it was inside my shirt and I felt a sharp pain on my back." A passing lorry driver rescued Pachiapan, who almost passed out from the fumes.
The fire brigade was called to the accident but the fumes were so strong that they could not get near the leaking tanker.
An emergency response team eventually solved the problem by neutralising the acid with hydrated lime.
The hornet is believed to have escaped.

A US man who attempted an armed robbery was caught out when his victim saw his thumb sticking out of his pocket.
The would-be robber entered a shop and demanded money, claiming he had a gun in his coat pocket, when in fact he was just pointing his fingers under the fabric.
Store clerk Terry Cook said: "I knew it was his finger. I could see his thumb sticking out of his coat pocket." When Cook confronted him about his ‘weapon’ the robber said, "It is a gun", and Cook replied, "No it isn’t".
Rather than argue it out the unarmed robber walked out of the shop.

The NYSIP’s FRANK MORANO believes Lohan could bid for New York City Public Advocate - a position next in line to the mayor, which links the electorate and city government.
Morano writes, "As Albany is currently a cesspool of corruption, badly in need of reform, you may also want to consider a bid for the state legislature.

The ERIN BROCKOVICH star, 39, and Moder, 37, welcomed twins PHINNAEUS WALTER and HAZEL PATRICIA in November 2004 - two years after their Independence Day (04JUL02) marriage.
The New York Post reports Roberts was pleasantly surprised to discover she was pregnant again and will give birth in the summer (07).
