A US man who attempted an armed robbery was caught out when his victim saw his thumb sticking out of his pocket.
The would-be robber entered a shop and demanded money, claiming he had a gun in his coat pocket, when in fact he was just pointing his fingers under the fabric.
Store clerk Terry Cook said: "I knew it was his finger. I could see his thumb sticking out of his coat pocket." When Cook confronted him about his ‘weapon’ the robber said, "It is a gun", and Cook replied, "No it isn’t".
Rather than argue it out the unarmed robber walked out of the shop.
