McCARTNEY MUSICAL ON THE WAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:09 pm

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is writing a new musical based on his previous romantic relationships - with the show branded as a tribute to his late wife LINDA.
The work will tell the story of SHANTY and MARY, a couple who manage to balance their romance with a busy work life, and is said to centre around the former BEATLE’s experiences with first wife Linda and estranged partner HEATHER MILLS.
But the musical has been besieged by setbacks following the McCartney-Mills divorce battle.
KATE ROBBINS, McCartney’s cousin, says, "Paul will approve every note as musical director. It has been delayed by divorce worries." The music of the new show will be based on McCartney’s first ever classical work THE LIVERPOOL ORATORIO, which was penned in 1991. McCartney unveiled new classical album ECCE COR MEUM last month (NOV06), which is also dedicated to wife Linda who died in 1998.

STONE FINDS WAR FILMS THERAPEUTIC

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:09 pm

Director OLIVER STONE found the making of his "Vietnam Trio" of movies therapeutic - after part of him was "ruined" by the Vietnam war.
The Hollywood filmmaker, who directed PLATOON, BORN ON THE FOURTH OF JULY and HEAVEN AND EARTH, admits he was deeply affected by his time as a soldier in Vietnam, but making movies about the conflict helped him to cope with the experience.
He says, "Part of me was ruined by the war.
"I did not particularly suffer nightmares afterwards and I think I came out of it relatively stable compared to some.
"It was impossible to be the same person any longer. I could never cross back to the generation I grew up with and my films reflect that.
"In doing my three Vietnam films, it was wonderful to get things from Vietnam out."

KID ROCK URGES AMERICANS TO SUPPORT ARMY IN IRAQ

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:57 pm

KID ROCK spent Christmas in Iraq, as part of a thank you to US troops stationed in the Middle East - and urged his countrymen to show their support for the army.
The rocker visited three different army camps in Iraq on Sunday (24DEC06), where he performed and signed autographs during a 16-hour stint, and had "one of the most thrilling rides of (his) life in a Blackhawk (helicopter)".
Writing on his website, Rock adds, "This year for Christmas I wanted to make sure somebody was thanking our troops for their service, no matter what our views are on the current situation in Iraq.
"I am very proud and happy to be here with some of the finest men and women in the world on Christmas Eve.
"These troops bust their asses here and that’s the real story, long hours, 140 degree summers and freezing nights this time of year, walking around with 60 or 70 pounds of gear, bathrooms and showers are worse than any ghetto I’ve ever stayed in.
"No matter what you think of this war, you have to support and respect our troops. I know all of us do, but maybe try and show a little more if you can."

BROWN’S BODY TO LIE AT THE APOLLO

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:57 pm

LATEST: The body of JAMES BROWN will lie in state in the New York venue where he first cemented his place in music history in the 1960s.
Brown’s coffin will rest on the stage of the Apollo Theater in Harlem on Thursday (28DEC06) with the public invited to pay their last respects to the star.
REV AL SHARPTON, a close friend of Brown’s, said it was a fitting tribute to a man who made such an impact on the music world.
He says, "It would almost be unthinkable for a man who lived such a sensational life to go away quietly.
"His greatest thrill was always the lines around the Apollo Theater.
"I felt that James Brown in all the years we talked would have wanted one last opportunity to let the people say goodbye to him and he to the people." "He used to tell me, ‘There are two American originals, ELVIS and me. ‘Elvis is gone, and I’ve got to carry on.’" A private ceremony will follow the public viewing in Brown’s Augusta, Georgia hometown on Friday (29DEC06). An additional public ceremony is scheduled to take place at the town’s James Brown Arena on Saturday (30DEC06).

McCARTNEY: ‘MILLS WILL GET NOTHING FROM DIVORCE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:57 pm

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY has reportedly told HEATHER MILLS she will make nothing from their impending divorce - as he didn’t earn any money during their four year marriage.
The former BEATLE has issued his estranged wife’s lawyers with the statement, and is hoping Mills will not fight the divorce in a courtroom - as he claims she would "end up with nothing".
McCartney, whose amassed fortune is rumoured to be around £300 million ($585 million), made his money before marrying Mills in 2002. He says he made a financial loss until 2006, after embarking on several world tours, according to British newspaper Daily Mirror.
British lawyer CAITLIN JENKINS says, "It’s a good tactic for Sir Paul - but also quite a high-risk strategy.
"Only about 10 per cent of contested divorce cases go down this route.
"Sir Paul is trying to persuade Heather’s team to advise her to come to an agreement - by suggesting she could end up with nothing if the divorce goes to court.
"In essence, Sir Paul is showing her how bad it could be for her."
