Float felon
A US man driving a float in a Christmas parade has been charged with drunk driving.
Witnesses were shocked to see David Allen Rodgers, 42, driving the Stepping Out Dance Studio’s float out of line during the festival carnival in Anderson, Columbia.
He then overtook a tractor and sped through a red light with volunteers from the dance studio, including children, still onboard.
Police pursued Rodgers for three miles before he finally pulled over.
Officers searched his truck and found an open container of alcohol.
Rodgers, whose own child was on the float, now faces charges of driving under the influence, 18 counts of kidnapping and assaulting an officer.
