French fancy

A British woman believed she was French after suffering from a rare stress condition.
Recruitment consultant Louise Clark spoke only in French for weeks, demanded croissants and called all her friends to tell them she had moved to Paris and invited them to visit.
The 30-year-old is one of only 200 in the world to develop Susac’s syndrome, a brain disorder brought on by stress, which affects blood vessels leading to the brain, ears and eyes and can scramble memories.
Clark had previously lived in France for four years and is now controlling the condition with medication.
She said: "It was a really tough time for my family. I phoned all my friends and told them to visit me in Paris. My sister had to ring them all back to explain what had happened."
