Uma Thurman had to be rescued after getting stuck in a lift.
The actress, who is currently filming ‘The Accidental Husband’, suffered her own mishap when she became trapped in a New York elevator after trying to fit too many people inside.
A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Uma was running late the other afternoon. She stuffed eight people into an elevator built for four in a Manhattan building. Uma was trapped for more than 20 minutes.
"Luckily, her bodyguard Leonard Taylor rescued her. He pulled the elevator door open with one arm and used his belt as a pulley with his other arm." The ‘Kill Bill’ actress plays a radio host, Emma Lloyd, who advises a listener to break up with her boyfriend, a New York fireman, in the new romantic comedy.
The fireman - played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan - then tries to take his revenge by wrecking Emma’s personal life.
Uma begged Hollywood bosses not to write her off earlier this year.
The 36-year-old, who claims Tinseltown has a habit of putting female stars out to pasture as they advance in years, insists she is getting better with age.
She said: "Theoretically, athletes run more slowly as they get older. But actors get better. They may be less attractive but, professionally, they grow richer and deeper."
