The US rockers - singer Brandon Flowers, guitarist Dave Keuning, drummer Ronnie Vannucci and bassist Mark Stoermer - are now deciding whether to pen the theme to the ‘Casino Royale’ sequel, tentatively titled ‘Bond 22′.
A source said: "The Killers have reached the perfect point in their career to do a Bond track. They have the right sound, right look and a huge fanbase." If the band does accept the offer they will be following in the footsteps of a host of revered artists who have lent their music to a Bond movie.
Madonna, Tina Turner, Duran Duran, Sheryl Crow, Shirley Bassey and Sir Paul McCartney’s former band Wings have all penned 007 theme songs.
Chris Cornell, the former lead singer of Soundgarden, recorded the track, ‘You Know My Name’, for ‘Casino Royale’.
Daniel Craig will reprise his role as Bond for the next movie.
