BECKHAM ‘TO SUE ROCK & REPUBLIC’
VICTORIA BECKHAM has reportedly threatened to sue fashion house Rock & Republic for $98 million (£50 million), because she believes the jeans she designed for the label were more profitable than previously thought.
The former SPICE GIRL - who was spotted house-hunting in Los Angeles earlier this week (begs04DEC06) - signed with the trendy label in September 2004 in a deal which included a share of the profits made from her own-brand jeans.
The wife of soccer star DAVID BECKHAM has reportedly been paid $980,000 (£500,000) so far by MICHAEL BALL’s company, but parted ways with the label earlier this year (OCT06).
The WANNABE singer’s legal spokesman tells British newspaper the Sunday Mirror, "Victoria Beckham’s lawyers and accountants believe the range have been far more successful than anyone imagined - and that Victoria is owed tens of millions of pounds." However, fashion guru Ball insists, "We have heard nothing about any legal action." If Beckham decides to go ahead with the lawsuit, the case is likely to be a complex and long-running battle.
