TAYLOR’S SPLIT FROM DURAN DURAN LIKE A ‘DIVORCE’
DURAN DURAN rocker JOHN TAYLOR has likened the recent departure of guitarist ANDY TAYLOR to a "divorce".
Andy walked out midway through the US leg of the British band’s world tour in October (06), just as Duran Duran were in the studio with JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and producer TIMBALAND.
John Taylor explains, "So, there we are, in the studio, but no Andy. He’s not the easiest guy to get hold of because he doesn’t answer the phone.
"In the meantime, here’s Justin, here’s TIM (MOSLEY, Timbaland’s real name), we have a steaming groove going, but no Andy.
"What has happened is like a divorce - by the time you are in the office discussing it with the solicitor, you realise it has been over for at least a year.
"We were no longer able to work together and that was that. There’s no point in pretending anything different."
