Chess enhancer
The chess world governing body is introducing drug testing at the Asian Games this week.
The testing will be launched at the event in Doha but officials admit they have no idea how drugs could enhance a chess player’s performance.
Competition manager Yousuf Ahmad Ali said: "I would not know which drug could possibly help a chess player to improve his game.
"But, yes, there will be official monitors who may demand that players undergo a drugs test after the rounds." Officials are hoping chess will become an Olympic sport and one of the requirements of events entered in the games is that athletes undergo random dope testing.
