BONO HAILS JAPAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:36 pm

Crusading rocker BONO has lavished praise on Japan for its generous development policies.
The U2 star is an outspoken anti-poverty activist and hailed new Japanese Prime Minister SHINZO ABE’s pledge to help developing countries in Africa despite budgetary constraints.
As a personal thank you, the singer - currently on tour in Japan with his band - presented Abe with a pair of his trademark Georgio Armani sunglasses.
He said, "Some countries make promises and they don’t keep them. Japan, we trust to fulfil their promise.
"There is a lot we can learn from Japan in applying to the rest of the developing world." The country vowed before and during the 2005 G8 summit in Scotland to spend billions of dollars more in aid on Africa and on development assistance overall. Japan has already helped lift many Asian countries out of poverty.
