HOMER AND THE FONZ MAKE TV LAND’S CATCHPHRASE HIT LIST
HOMER SIMPSON’s "D’oh!" and THE FONZ’s "Aaay" have been immortalised in a new list of US TV catchphrases.
Bosses at cable network TV Land came up with the Hot 100 TV terms for a new poll for an upcoming five-day series, THE 100 GREATEST TV QUOTES & CATCHPHRASES.
The list of great lines and phrases include 28 from comedy shows, 10 from TV commercials, while the 1970s comes out as the best decade for good one-liners 26 catchphrases come from that era.
Also on the list is "Book ‘em, Danno" from police show HAWAII FIVE-O, "De plane! De plane!" from FANTASY ISLAND, CHARLIE BROWN’s "Good grief" and THE WALTONS’ famous sign-off, "Good night, John Boy."
