HOMER SIMPSON’s "D’oh!" and THE FONZ’s "Aaay" have been immortalised in a new list of US TV catchphrases.
Bosses at cable network TV Land came up with the Hot 100 TV terms for a new poll for an upcoming five-day series, THE 100 GREATEST TV QUOTES & CATCHPHRASES.
The list of great lines and phrases include 28 from comedy shows, 10 from TV commercials, while the 1970s comes out as the best decade for good one-liners 26 catchphrases come from that era.
Also on the list is "Book ‘em, Danno" from police show HAWAII FIVE-O, "De plane! De plane!" from FANTASY ISLAND, CHARLIE BROWN’s "Good grief" and THE WALTONS’ famous sign-off, "Good night, John Boy."

GOLDIE HAWN is set to become the latest big name to tango with Broadway sensation JIMINY GLICK as part of funnyman MARTIN SHORT’s hit new show.
The Oscar-winning actress will take to stage for an improvised interview with Glick - Short’s rude and rotund alter-ego - as part of MARTIN SHORT: FAME BECOMES ME at the Bernard B Jacobs Theatre on Friday night (01DEC06).
Since the show opened on Broadway in July (06), Glick has hosted an array of top stars including JERRY SEINFELD, STEVE MARTIN, BETTE MIDLER and ROSEANNE BARR.

JACK OSBOURNE has signed up to train as a reserve police officer for a new US reality show.
THE OSBOURNES star will join former TV cop ERIK ESTRADA, JACKASS star WEE-MAN and MICHAEL JACKSON’s sister LA TOYA for the celebrity bootcamp series, which is set in Muncie, Indiana.
Filming in the small college town began on Sunday (26NOV06).

Oscar winner ELLEN BURSTYN is set to share her life with movie fans by launching her own website and filling it with memoirs and family photos.
THE EXORCIST star was so charged by the response to her recently released memoirs, LESSONS IN BECOMING MYSELF, she decided she wanted to share more about her turbulent life.
The new site will feature personal photographs, anecdotes from film sets and recollection of meetings the actress had with celebrities and world leaders like JACKIE GLEASON and MAHATMA GANDHI.
Burstyn is also hoping to add a diary section in the New Year (07), where she will correspond with fans daily.

LATEST: Spooky spectre movie POLTERGEIST is set for the remake treatment, with a completely new cast.
CRAIG T NELSON, the star of the original TOBE HOOPER and STEVEN SPIELBERG horror classic, was slated to star in the new film, but producers are now planning to recast the whole film.
The new film won’t be a complete remake, according to the website bloody-disgusting.com - there will be elements from screenwriter CLINT MORRIS’ POLTERGEIST KAYERI sequel treatment included.
The original 1982 movie starred the late HEATHER O’ROURKE as a little girl who channels evil spirits through a dead channel on the family TV.
Morris says, "They (movie executives) may be using elements from my script for Kayeri but it definitely won’t be the original cast anymore, and it definitely won’t be a sequel. So it will now be called simply Poltergeist."

Actress BROOKE SHIELDS saved pal KATIE HOLMES’ wedding day blushes recently when she served up the ’something old’ gift.
Shields admits she was stuck for a special gift and then learned Holmes was short of an old item to go with her something new, something borrowed and something blue traditional accessories.
She says, "I had to give Katie the ’something old’ and it wasn’t just me at the wedding, by the way. I actually bought her a gift." Shields was one of many stars who made the trip to Italy for Holmes’ wedding to movie star TOM CRUISE earlier this month (17NOV06).

SPANGLISH star PAZ VEGA and her husband, shoe store and restaurant owner ORSON SALAZAR, are expecting their first child together.
The Spanish actress is four months pregnant and she and Salazar, who have been married for four years, already know their baby is a boy. Vega tells American publication People, "I’m four months… We are very excited. It’s our first and it’s a boy.
"I haven’t had time yet to decorate the nursery, because I’ve been working.
But after Christmas I’m going to prepare everything." The Seville native, who now lives in Los Angeles, adds, "I haven’t decided yet where I’m having him… but I’m hoping in Spain."

Former SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE and JAY & SILENT BOB star TRACY MORGAN has reportedly been charged with driving while intoxicated in New York.
The funnyman was pulled over by police early this morning (28NOV06) after failing to "maintain a position in a lane of traffic" and driving erratically, according to reports on news website TMZ.com.
The arrest could spell big trouble for Morgan, who is currently on probation in Los Angeles for a DUI conviction.

KATE WINSLET was left mortified yesterday (27NOV06) when she appeared on a US talk show and the host played a clip dating back to her childhood - because the little girl on the screen wasn’t her.
The TITANIC star is currently promoting three movies - LITTLE CHILDREN, FLUSHED AWAY and THE HOLIDAY - and interviewers try and outdo each other with obscure footage.
She explains, "Recently, I’ve been doing a lot of press. Odd things keep happening.
"People keep digging up little nuggets of research that they think no one has ever seen before and it’s not going quite according to plan.
"I was on GOOD MORNING AMERICA with DIANE SAWYER, who is a wonderful, lovely woman and they thought they would surprise me by showing a clip of a breakfast cereal commercial that I was in when I was 11 years old, but it wasn’t me.
"I just didn’t have the heart to say, ‘Oh, God, Diane, I’m really sorry, but your researcher got it wrong. It’s just not me.’" A stunned Winslet didn’t say anything at the time about the faulty clip because she didn’t want anyone to lose their job.
She adds, "I just didn’t want the researcher to get fired!"

Civil rights campaigner REV JESSE JACKSON has called for a boycott of the latest SEINFELD DVD box set in the wake of MICHAEL RICHARD’s racist rant at a comedy club on 17 November (06).
Richards, 57, won three Emmy Awards for playing COSMO KRAMER in the hit series, which ran from 1990 until 1998.

The CHARLIE’S ANGELS star admits she only has one nostril which works properly - after breaking her nose four times - and she is desperate to get it repaired.
Diaz has been consulting with DR RAJ KANODIA, the same Beverly Hills surgeon who is reportedly responsible for ASHLEE SIMPSON’s new look.
She explains, "My ear, nose and throat doctor said nostrils only work one at a time, I think. I only have one that works at any point, so when it’s off, the other one doesn’t come on.
"They’re going to swipe it through. It’s not cosmetic, it’s just for breathing purposes. Half the oxygen isn’t working for me any longer. "There are moments where I can’t remember things and I’m going to blame it on lack of oxygen.
"They’re just going to go in and fix the bones. The septum’s kind of like a derailed train; it kind of piles up on itself a few times. It’s not cosmetic, it’s purely medical."

Rocker PETE TOWNSHEND’s girlfriend RACHEL FULLER has a way of hitting back at THE WHO fans who dislike her - she threatens to have sex with the guitarist just before a show, and rob him of his energy.
The pianist has become a target of The Who fans, who fear she’s a negative influence on their guitar hero.
She explains, "In the early days someone would say, ‘You’re just f**kin Pete’s girlfriend and you’re useless and you can’t sing and your music’s crap and you should just go away.’ "I would just diffuse that with humour: ‘Don’t give me a hard time or I’ll s**g him before he goes on stage, and he’ll have no energy, and he’ll do a s**t show.’" Townshend, himself, comes to his partner’s defence, insisting there would be no new The Who album if it wasn’t for her.
He adds, "If we weren’t together I kind of doubt there would be a new Who album. I kind of doubt whether I would be out on the road doing a long tour." The rocker fears Fuller is to him what LINDA McCARTNEY and YOKO ONO were to SIR PAUL McCARTNEY and JOHN LENNON respectively: "There were people that didn’t accept Linda - the cynical press and the gossips and the vicious ones. I may have been one of those had I not known Linda.

Singer/songwriter TOM WAITS was forced to change his shopping habits after realising his new neighbours were constantly judging his purchases at the local supermarket.
Waits was still adjusting to life in a small town in California and was so keen to stop nosy fellow shoppers from stereotyping him, he began to buy products he didn’t even want.
He explains, "When I first moved up (here) I felt like an unplugged appliance. It took some time to get used to where I was. "The problem is, at the supermarket, people get very friendly and they want to look at all the things that you purchase and then they want to build a story about ‘em. They feel compelled. I hate it. "So now the things that I choose to purchase aren’t really things I want, they’re only things I think will make a good story or a less embarrassing story. "It’s a quick sketch. If it’s pizzas, it’s ‘Oh, a pizza party,’ but if it’s razor blades and toilet paper, you know, you don’t want to go there. It’s terrible."

Rocker PETE TOWNSHEND and his longtime girlfriend RACHEL FULLER almost missed out on love - thanks to a jealous receptionist.
THE WHO rocker fell for the classically-trained pianist when she helped arrange music for him, but a love note he asked a studio assistant to pass on to Fuller was thrown away because the intern had her own plans to woo Townshend.
He recalls, "I was attracted to Rachel’s energy and to her as a woman. I had just broken a long relationship with a girl in New York. I just felt I couldn’t keep having these long distance relationships. I wrote her a note which didn’t reach her." Fuller adds, "The receptionist at the studio had a crush on Pete and when Pete asked her to give the note to me she threw it away." The couple eventually found love when Townshend refused to give up hope of dating Fuller.
He recalls, "I tracked her down for a date… and we went to lunch at Harvey Nicholls. I picked her up in a Ferrari and she thought it was a Ford.
"I sensed a romantic journey that wasn’t only about a relationship but what we might achieve together."

Grammy Award winner BOBBY McFERRIN’s father ROBERT McFERRIN SR died after suffering a heart attack in St Louis, Missouri on Friday (24NOV06). He was 85.
McFerrin won the Metropolitan Opera national auditions in 1953 and debuted as the company’s first black male member in AIDA.
He performed in 10 operas over three seasons and providing the vocals for SIDNEY POITIER in the 1959 movie PORGY AND BESS.
Born in Arkansas, the son of a strict Baptist minister, McFerrin was one of eight children. He was forbidden to sing anything but gospel music while he was growing up.
Despite suffering a stroke in 1989, he continued to perform for many years.
He is survived by his second wife ATHENA, his sister, two children and three grandchildren.

LEONARDO DiCAPRIO’s model girlfriend BAR RAFAELI is being sued for $300,000 (£154,000) by her former agent, who claims she ditched him after finding fame.
The 21-year-old appeared at Tel Aviv Magistrates Court in Israel today (28NOV06) to answer the claims made by Rafi Agiv.
Agiv claims he was sacked by Rafaeli a year ago (05) - after he had helped build her career up, following her marriage to an older man, a union she used to avoid compulsory military service in the Israeli Army.
Rafaeli insists the claims are untrue. The trial will begin in the Israeli capital in February (07).
The Victoria’s Secret model began dating DiCaprio earlier this year (06), following his split from Brazilian model GISELE BUNDCHEN.
