Superstar MADONNA is reportedly taking her adopted son DAVID to a tropical island for his first Christmas with his new family.
Madonna and husband GUY RITCHIE initially planned to bring the whole family to the Maldives, but changed their mind when a hotel reportedly demanded $450,000 (£250,000) for them to have the whole place to themselves for one week.
A source close to Madonna tells British newspaper The People, "Madonna has been so happy since adopting David. She decided to make Christmas really special this year as it is his first with his new family.
"She and Guy decided to go somewhere idyllic where they could get away from it all. When it went wrong she was devastated." The couple are now said to be seeking out an alternative destination, possibly in the Cayman Islands or the Seychelles.

HUGH GRANT’s girlfriend JEMIMA KHAN has resumed her studies at a prestigious London university, after dropping out when she first started dating the actor two years ago (04).
The 32-year-old socialite halted her masters degree at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London in 2004 after her marriage to former Pakistani cricket captain IMRAN KHAN ended.
However, it appears now Khan’s personal life has settled down, she is keen to finish her studies.
A fellow student at the university tells British newspaper Sunday Telegraph, "Jemima postponed her masters course for what she called ‘personal reasons’, but she is coming back.
"She was a very good student and we all look forward to seeing her again."

Actor EMILIO ESTEVEZ was forced to cash in his pension to pay the bills, after Hollywood turned its back on him in the late 1990s.
The former Brat Pack member rose to fame in the Eighties with movies such as THE BREAKFAST CLUB, ST ELMO’S FIRE and YOUNG GUNS, and is now in the running for an Oscar after writing and directing the 2006 political drama BOBBY, about the assassination of Senator ROBERT F KENNEDY.
But for almost ten years, Estevez had struggled to find work or get his scripts noticed.
He says, "I didn’t stop working by choice. The past ten years have been very difficult. I’ve had dark periods. People didn’t want to go anywhere near me.
"It’s a cynical and resigned world but I’m an unapologetically optimistic person who wakes up singing every morning. I always believe things will turn out ok.
"I started writing several scripts, mainly because I didn’t have anything else to do. But when I tried to get them made, I was met with deaf ears and blank stares."

Former AMERICAN IDOL star JENNIFER HUDSON is having the last laugh after earning rave reviews for her role in new movie musical DREAMGIRLS.
The 25-year-old was axed from the TV singing contest after acid-tongued judge SIMON COWELL claimed she was "out of her league", but she’s impressed industry insiders so much with her performance in the movie, she’s now achieved her dream of landing a record deal. She boasts, "Simon said to be that you only get one shot at the big time but you know what Simon, I got shot number two. My motto is that if you can get through American Idol, you can get through anything.
"Any time I am nervous about something I say that if I got through Idol I can get through anything. It helps me calm my nerves." After seeing Hudson perform on THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW, Cowell was forced to admit his mistake, saying, "I’d like to be the first to admit a massive dose of humble pie. Hollywood star KIRSTEN DUNST has laughed off reports of an on-set rivalry with SPIDER-MAN 3 co-star BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD.
In the forthcoming movie, Howard plays GWEN STACY, the bookish blonde who goes up against Dunst’s MARY JANE WATSON in a battle for the affections of PETER PARKER, played by TOBEY MAGUIRE.
Dunst reveals, "It’s so funny. Everyone asks me if it’s a competitive thing but Bryce and I get on better than anybody.

New JAMES BOND DANIEL CRAIG refused to dye his blond locks dark brown for his role in new 007 smash CASINO ROYALE.
The actor faced a barrage of criticism when he was chosen to play the world’s most famous secret agent, with opponents saying he was too short, too ordinary-looking and too blond to play Bond.
But while the 38-year-old actor agreed to undertake a punishing gym regime to build up a 007 body, he drew the line when directors asked him to change his hair colour for the movie.
He admits, "I was asked to dye my hair brown to play this role but it was out of the question. I suggested instead that I could cut my hair really short to create a more brutal appearance."

The bodyguard of soccer superstar DAVID BECKHAM and his wife VICTORIA reportedly pulled a gun on three intruders who managed to hijack security at the couple’s Spanish home.
The intruders were allegedly confronted by the Beckhams’ armed minder after he spotted them slipping through a metal gate and heading towards the couple’s $ 9.5 million (£5 million) house in Madrid on CCTV at 11am on Tuesday (21NOV06).
A source told British newspaper the News Of The World, the security guard pointed his pistol at the intruders, shouting, "Stop! Stop! Don’t move! I have a gun." The petrified trio immediately put their hands in the hair and admitted they were Japanese journalists filming a documentary on the lavish homes of celebrities, but the guard reportedly kept his gun pointed at them, screaming, "Give me the camera! Give me the camera!" The guard only lowered the pistol when one of the intruders reluctantly handed over his digital camera, before six armed policemen arrived at the house to take the intruders away.
The former England soccer ace was training with his Real Madrid teammates at the time of the break-in, but his wife Victoria and their one-year-old son CRUZ were inside.
A representative for the Beckhams admitted there had been a breach of security at the house, saying, "Japanese fans are great, but they are the most intensive fans on the planet." However, she refused to confirm a gun had been drawn on the intruders, claiming, "I don’t know the details."

British jazz singer AMY WINEHOUSE paid tribute to late soul legend DONNY HATHAWAY at a charity gig in London on Friday (24NOV06).
The REHAB hitmaker performed for learning disability charity Mencap at the Union Chapel venue and covered Hathaway’s hits WE’RE STILL FRIENDS and I’LL LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOU’LL EVER KNOW.
Hathaway was just 34 years old when he committed suicide outside his home in New York City in January 1979.

Pop singer GERI HALLIWELL has decided to leave the UK to start a new life in America.
The former SPICE GIRL was spotted queuing at the United States embassy in London on Friday (24NOV06).
A source tells British newspaper the Sunday Express, "The immigration officer showed me her name on the list, because I wanted to make sure it was her." It is thought Halliwell may have made the decision to emigrate because SACHA GERVASI, the father of her baby daughter BLUEBELL MADONNA, is based in Los Angeles.

JAMIROQUAI frontman JAY KAY has reportedly fallen for former British soap actress AMY NUTTALL.
The SPACE COWBOY hitmaker fell for EMMERDALE beauty at the Elle Style Awards in London earlier this year (06).
Nuttall, who left Emmerdale to pursue a singing career in 2004, also admits she has been a fan of Kay’s for some time.
She says, "I’d love to duet with Jay Kay, he’s such a sexy man. I’ve seen him on stage and he does something to you." Last week (ends 24NOV06), Kay invited Nuttall to a bash at London nightclub Movida to celebrate the release of his greatest hits album HIGH TIMES.

Veteran rockers PINK FLOYD have given permission for the first time to allow another artist to use a sample from one of their songs.
Swedish DJ and producer ERIC PRYDZ, best known for his 2004 dance anthem megahit CALL ON ME, will release PROPER EDUCATION, using the music from Floyd’s ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL (PART II).
Proper Education will be released on 1 January 2007.

Rock legends GENESIS sold out their British comeback concert tour in just 90 minutes on Friday (24NOV06).
The band will perform gigs in London and Manchester, England as part of their 2007 Turn It On Again tour, and all 100,000 tickets were snapped up by fans.
PHIL COLLINS, MIKE RUTHERFORD and TONY BANKS are reuniting 15 years after they last performed as a band, and will also tour Europe and North America.
In Germany and Holland, 400,000 tickets were sold inside of forty minutes.
The tour kicks off in Finland on 11 June 2007.

HEATHER MILLS’ website is being plagued with abusive emails criticising the way she’s handling her bitter divorce battle with former BEATLE SIR PAUL McCARTNEY.
The former model set up an email facility on her website to allow the public to communicate with her, but it’s now been removed after legions of McCartney fans used it to send a torrent of abuse her way.
One post reads, "Dear Heather, you are now quite comfortably the most loathed persons in the British Isles. Congratulations… it’s one hell of an achievement." Another reads, "Heather, you are nothing but a bloody gold-digging disgrace…go to your bloody minefields, preferably without a detector." Letters to the website from members of the public are now being screened by the site’s webmaster before Heather’s sister FIONA checks they’re suitable for publishing.

British pop star JAMELIA was rushed into hospital after being crippled with stomach pains on a Spanish TV show on Thursday night (23NOV06).
The SUPERSTAR singer and mother-of-two had to be flown back to the UK where she had surgery to repair an umbilical hernia - a condition caused by childbirth.
The procedure was carried out on Friday (24NOV06) at St Mary’s hospital in Paddington, London.
Jamelia’s manager, JONATHAN SHALIT, says, "She was in pain before flying to Spain but was determined to carry on with the trip." The singer’s fiance, soccer ace DARREN BYFIELD, has been by her side while she recovers from the operation.

British royals PRINCE WILLIAM and PRINCE HARRY are organising a huge pop concert to mark the 10th anniversary of their mother DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES’ death.
The gig will be held at the new Wembley Stadium in north west London on 1 July next year (07), which would have been the late princess’ 46th birthday.
The concert is expected to draw 90,000 fans and a TV audience of millions thanks to performances from a host of worldwide singing stars, who are yet to be confirmed.
The event would be an appropriate way to commemorate Diana’s death - the late princess was a big music fan who attended Live Aid with 72,000 other fans at the old Wembley Stadium in July 1985.
