COSTNER ACCEPTS DOWNSIDE OF MOVIE CAREER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

US actor KEVIN COSTER knew he couldn’t be Hollywood’s golden boy forever but says he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Costner’s career hit the top during the 1990s after starring in films such as ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES and the Oscar winning DANCES WITH WOLVES. However some of his later films, such as WATERWORLD and THE POSTMAN were slammed by Hollywood and audiences alike.
Costner says, "I have always taken a realistic view of how Hollywood works.
What goes up must come down. You get older, you’re no longer the new kid on the block, you make mistakes. You are only human and things can go wrong for a time, just as they can go right.
"So you can get laughed at, or ridiculed for taking on a big challenge. But unless you take risks, how can you know?"

NEW GERMAN FILM PORTRAYS HITLER AS BED-WETTER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

Nazi leader ADOLF HITLER is to be portrayed as a drug addicted bed-wetter in a satirical new German film.
MEIN FUHRER: THE TRULY TRUEST TRUTH ABOUT ADOLF HITLER, will be directed by Jewish filmmaker DANI LEVY and will also see the dictator take baths with a toy battleship, dress his dog in an SS uniform and be unable to sexually satisfy his wife.
Levy’s aim is to ridicule the cruel leader, as he doesn’t believe he deserves anything better.
He says, "To laugh at Hitler; to expose him for the buffoon he was beneath the uniforms and the pomp, this is what I have tried to do.
"The movie shows Hitler tired after a decade in power. I hope Germans laugh, I believe they will. I don’t want to give this cynical, psychological wreck of a person the honour of a realistic portrayal." The film is set for release in Germany in January 2007.

COSTNER WILL NOT GIVE IN TO VANITY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

The 51-year-old actor, who was once one of Hollywood’s hottest stars after starring in films such as THE BODYGUARD and DANCES WITH WOLVES, refuses to use surgery to look more like his younger self.
He says, "I am never going for a hairpiece, dye or nips and tucks. You will always have to take me as you find me.
"We all have our vanity. We can all hear whispers. In my case, they still say, ‘He’s taller than I thought.’ "But there will come the day when they will say, ‘He is much older than I remember him.’"

DA VINCI CODE SEQUEL TO BE MADE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:24 pm

A sequel to the blockbuster movie adaptation THE DA VINCI CODE is in the works.
Scriptwriter AKIVA GOLDSMAN, who adapted the DAN BROWN novel for the screen, has reportedly been paid £2 million ($3.8 million) to write the sequel.
However, it’s said the sequel will not be an original story, but will actually be based on ANGELS AND DEMONS, the book which precedes The Da Vinci Code.
Sources claim the plot, which sees cryptologist ROBERT LANGDON, played by TOM HANKS, help a woman to discover the links between her father’s death and secret society conspiracies, will be altered so that it can follow on from the first film.
It is expected the movie will be released in 2008.

HECKLERS DEMAND RICHARDS APOLOGY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:24 pm

The two men racially abused by MICHAEL RICHARDS have demanded an apology from the former SEINFELD star.
FRANK McBRIDE and KYLE DOSS want a face-to-face apology from the comic for racially abusing them after they interrupted his act at a Los Angeles club.
Doss says, "To have him do what he did to me… I can’t even explain it. I was humiliated, even scared at one point," Richards made a public apology on the LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN earlier this week, however McBride’s and Doss’s lawyer, GLORIA ALLRED says this is insufficient.
She says, "It’s not enough to say ‘I’m Sorry’ on DAVID LETTERMAN," she said, adding that Richards should meet her clients to "acknowledge his behaviour and to apologise to them".
Richards’ spokesman HOWARD RUBENSTEIN claimed the actor wants to say sorry but has been unable to locate the two men.

BOBBY WEDDING LEFT LOHAN IN TEARS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:21 am

LINDSAY LOHAN was left in floods of tears when she `wed’ ELIJAH WOOD in new movie BOBBY - because she got her first glance of what her own big day could be like.
The MEAN GIRLS star plays a character who agrees to wed a friend to keep him from being sent to serve his country in Vietnam in the 1968-based film.
And she admits the day she came to shoot the wedding scene emotions were high.
Lohan says, "That scene made me cry. It was very strange. The fairy tale wedding is every little girl’s fantasy; the cake that’s taller than her and a nice dress.
"My character is saving Elijah’s character from possibly dying, by marrying him and I thought that was important.
"My own fairytale wedding will come but right now this is important to me and I think that’s a really good message to put out there."

BORAT STAR COHEN SADDENED BY FILM BACKLASH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:21 am

BORAT star SACHA BARON COHEN is deeply upset about the backlash he has received about the hit comedy - because it’s clear many people simply didn’t get the joke.
The British comedian portrays a fictitious Kazakhstani TV reporter in the film, which pokes fun at people’s stereotypes towards countries they have little or no knowledge of.
But the film’s producers have already been hit by a string of lawsuits from everyday people who have objected to appearing in the film, and initial test audiences in America were so perplexed by Cohen’s comic creation and his crazy antics they convinced film distributors the movie would be a hard sell.
The Brit tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I was surprised because I always had faith in the audience that they would realise that this was a fictitious country (sic) and the mere purpose of it (the film) was to allow people to bring out their own prejudices.
"The reason we chose Kazakhstan was because it was a country that no one had ever heard anything about, so we could essentially play on stereotypes they might have about this ex-Soviet backwater.
"The joke is not on Kazakhstan. I think the joke is on people who can believe that the Kazakhstan that I describe can exist - who believe that there’s a country where homosexuals wear blue hats and women live in cages."

DiCAPRIO’S MUM WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR A DIAMOND

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:21 am

There’s only one woman who can expect a diamond ring from hunky LEONARDO DiCAPRIO in the near future - and that’s his mum.
Leo’s mother has been hinting she needs a sparkler on her finger for some time but, after researching the diamond industry for new movie BLOOD DIAMOND which is set against the backdrop of civil war and chaos in 1990’s Sierra Leone, the TITANIC star has realised buying the right gem is not an easy thing to do.
In preparing to play South African mercenary DANNY ARCHER in the action film with a conscience, DiCaprio learned all about the diamond trade and fully understood that the gems might be a girl’s best friend, but some are washed with the blood of poverty-stricken Africans.
He says, "My mom is the only person I would really buy something like that for; she, for a while, has wanted one.
"But what I learned from my conversations about diamonds from Global Witness and Amnesty International is you have to go into the stores where you buy these diamonds and ask for authentication that it isn’t a conflict diamond.
"That’s one of the biggest ways this whole process can be put to a stop.
Ultimately diamonds are a source of economic stability in Africa, but what they’re specifically trying to target is these conflict diamonds, these that have funded these warlords and caused this civil strife in Africa."

EXHAUSTED JACKMAN BANS FAMILY FROM FILM SET

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:18 am

HUGH JACKMAN was so intent on giving his all for time-travelling new movie THE FOUNTAIN he did the unthinkable and banned his wife and kids from the set.
The Aussie actor knew the complex film would take a lot out of him after he read the script and he feared he wouldn’t be very much of a dad or a husband if his family was around on the set, like they usually are for his movies.
He explains, "This is the first time I worked without my family being there because we always sort of travel together.
"I said, `Dear, I have a feeling with this one there’s not gonna be much left of me at the end of the day,’ and there wasn’t.
"I’d wake up in the morning and do yoga for an hour and a half or so and then I’d work all day and then I’d collapse. I’d collapse at lunchtime often too. It was an exhaustion that was really rewarding."

JACKSON: ‘RICHARDS IS DANGEROUS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:18 am

LATEST: REV JESSE JACKSON has lashed out at actor MICHAEL RICHARDS after he went on a racial tirade last week (17NOV06) - insisting the comedian is "dangerous to himself and others." Richards is reaching out to civil rights leaders to repair damage after launching into a racist rant in Los Angeles when he was heckled by two African-Americans at a comedy club.
Jackson has slammed the former SEINFELD star saying, "He’s embarrassed. He got caught on tape. That’s a big part of his anxiety now." Jackson said Richards is ill and in desperate need of professional help adding, "Clearly he needs some race sensibility training, and some psychiatric help.
"His anger is volatile and dangerous to himself and others. I hope he gets the help he needs. "We have to evaluate the use of the n-word and categorise it as hate speech, no matter who uses it."
