BLACK: ‘TENACIOUS D MADE GNARLS BARKLEY ACCEPTABLE’
JACK BLACK insists GNARLS BARKLEY would not exist without his TENACIOUS D duo, because he and bandmate KYLE GASS made large musicians acceptable.
The movie star-turned-rocker is still waiting for a thank you from CRAZY chart-toppers Gnarls Barkley because he is convinced CEE-LO and DANGER MOUSE would have been shunned if it wasn’t for the popularity of Tenacious D.
He says, "If it wasn’t for the D there’d be no Gnarls Barkley - they’d be considered too fat.
"And we’ve yet to receive a thank you bouquet. We’ve had nothing at all from Gnarls."
