ALTMAN’S FINAL PROJECT GRINDS TO A HALT
The death of director ROBERT ALTMAN has thrown production of new movie HANDS ON A HARD BODY into disarray, because nobody else can match the GOSFORD PARK film-maker’s vision.
Seven-time Oscar nominee Altman died on Monday aged 81, bringing to an end an illustrious career.
And Picturehouse chief BEN BERNEY doubts whether any other film-maker will be able to do justice to Hands On A Hard Body - a character driven story about a truck contest in small town Texas.
He says, "This was conceived as a Robert Altman film, and I’m not sure there can be any other way to do it."
