STILLER’S ‘MONSTER’ SCRIPT SHOCK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:55 pm

BEN STILLER tried to get out of appearing as himself in British TV comedy EXTRAS - because he thought people would always see him as a "monster" afterwards.
The Hollywood actor committed to the part before seeing the script because he was such a fan of the show’s creator, THE OFFICE star RICKY GERVAIS.
But after reading his lines, Stiller was mortified to see Gervais had made him out as a tyrannical, diva-demanding director.
He eventually agreed to play the part after Gervais persuaded him it was all part of the English sense of humour.
Stiller says, "After reading, I was horrified that that’s how Ricky saw me.
"I thought it was going to be some great funny turn, but instead I’m this monster. Are people going to know that it’s funny and is supposed to be a joke? "And to me, that is what’s so great about Ricky’s humour - there’s a fine line between reality and what’s funny that can be so uncomfortable." BRODY LOVES CARS MORE THAN WOMEN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:55 pm

Oscar-winning actor ADRIEN BRODY spends more time working on classic cars than romancing his legions of female fans.
THE PIANIST star, 33, has developed a passion for racing since splitting up from longtime girlfriend MICHELLE DUPONT earlier this year (06).
And the hobby takes up so much time, Brody has no plans to busy himself even more by embarking on another relationship.
He says, "I’ve just built an engine for my Corvette. I can drive it on roads near Los Angeles, but it’s now ready for the racetrack.
"I want to learn to race properly, after learning drag racing in New York with bad cars that wouldn’t stop properly; I couldn’t make the brakes work.
"My priorities have changed with age and success - I now realise that braking is important!"

BARON COHEN EYED BREAKDANCE CAREER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:55 pm

British comedian SACHA BARON COHEN aspired to become a professional breakdancer before hitting the big time as a TV funnyman.
The ALI G star was a die hard hip-hop fan as a youngster, and even set up his own dance troupe with friends.
However, despite growing out of the hobby, Cohen is pleased the unlikely past time gave him material for some of his funniest TV and movie characters.
He says, "As a kid, I was very into rap.
"I used to breakdance. Starting at the age of 12, my mother would take me and my crew in the back of her Volvo. We had the linoleum in the back, and she’d drive us to Covent Garden (London) in the middle of winter; and we’d pull the lino out and start breakdancing.
"We didn’t really have a name until we started doing bar mitzvahs. I think we were called Black on White. We used mainly robotics.
"Essentially, we were middle-class Jewish white boys, who were adopting this culture, which we thought was very cool. That was sort of the origins of Ali G."

MONAGHAN’S SCRIPT IDEAS REJECTED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:54 pm

Actor DOMINIC MONAGHAN’s attempts to clarify the plot of complicated TV drama LOST have been dismissed by producers.
The 29-year-old, who plays rocker and heroin addict CHARLIE PACE, thinks the desert castaways are at the mercy of a bitter billionaire wreaking revenge for past wrongs.
But THE LORD OF THE RINGS star’s ideas fell on deaf ears with directors.
He says, "One of the theories I came up with was that we’d all in some way p**sed off some huge billionaire.
"He’d managed to get us all on a plane and have it crash into this island so that he could watch us from his castle with hidden cameras and create a TRUMAN SHOW nightmare for us all.
"Maybe I’d s**gged his daughter, or EVANGELINE (LILLY)’s character, KATE, had stolen money from his bank, or JOSH (HOLLOWAY)’s character SAWYER, had fandangled money out of him.
"But (the idea) got pooh-poohed by the writers."

The Senegalese star recently revealed he practices polygamy at his home in Atlanta, Georgia.

You ain’t gotta be married to them.
"You know how many dudes I know that got like three or four girls? All of them… I’m not gonna say all of them but most. That’s what they do, they’re dating all of these chicks. It’s the same thing, only difference is on that side you got a title."

THOMPSON PRAISES MADONNA ADOPTION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:09 pm

British actress EMMA THOMPSON has praised MADONNA for adopting Malawian baby DAVID BANDA last month (0CT06).
The SENSE AND SENSIBILITY star has seen the plight of Malawi’s children orphaned by AIDS first hand after becoming involved in charity work in the African country.
Shocked by the suffering she saw, in 2003 Thompson also welcomed an African orphan - 16-year-old TINDY - into her home after meeting the Rwandan refugee in London.
And the 47-year-old is convinced Madonna has made the right decision, despite taking David away from his native country and culture.
She says, "Malawi is a very difficult country, with tremendous problems with AIDS.
"While I understand the arguments about taking people away from their culture, there is a culture of deprivation and poverty that is not fun to be part of.
"She found a child in desperate need. Some people want to bring up a child personally, others want to act in a more general way, but both ways are surely to be welcomed."

FOX TELLS OF TSUNAMI FEARS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:06 pm

LOST star MATTHEW FOX was terrified his family would be engulfed by a tsunami when an earthquake hit the show’s Hawaiian set last month (OCT06).
The 40-year-old, who plays DR JACK SHEPHARD in the hit drama, feared he’d be swept away with his wife, MARGI, and their two small children when a tremor rocked the island.
He recalls, "I lived in southern California for nine years, so I’ve lived through some earthquakes, but this was the most intense I’ve ever felt.
"It woke me and my wife, we bolted out of bed, the kids freaked out. It was a 6.6 (on the Richter scale) right on The Big Island, which is a couple of hundred miles from where we are on Oahu.
"My first thought was tsunami. We live on the beach, and I’m thinking in an hour, a 10 feet wall of water might come sweeping through this house - I’ve got to get the kids and Margi up onto the hill where my daughter goes to school.
"But ten minutes later I was cool. I went to my car, turned on the radio and it said there was no worry about a tsunami."
