BURTON BEATS THE BULLIES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:33 pm

Film-maker TIM BURTON "exorcised demons" by basing movie characters on his own childhood enemies.
The director found it therapeutic to cast clueless jocks in BEETLEJUICE becuase it reminded him of his own school bullies. Burton says, "Filmmaking is all about exorcising certain demons.
"Those guys reminded me of people I went to school with.
"Taking someone who tortured you in high school helps you to stay passionate and be personal, even in projects that are big Hollywood movies. "It takes something that’s unreal and anchors it in its own reality."

FERRELL TURNED DOWN $29M FOR ELF SEQUEL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:30 pm

US funnyman WILL FERRELL turned down $29 million (£15 million) to make a sequel to his hit 2003 movie ELF, because he knew it would be awful.
The comic star, who recently appeared in TALLADEGA NIGHTS: THE LEGEND OF RICKY BOBBY, claims no amount of money could have persuaded him to take the role. He says, "That’s what was on offer for it. But I killed the idea of a sequel.
"I remember asking myself: could I withstand the criticism when it’s bad and they say, ‘He did the sequel for the money’? I decided I wouldn’t be able to. I didn’t want to wander into an area that could erase all the good work I’ve done." "But you watch - I’ll do some sequel in the future that’s crap."

GALLAGHER PRAISES ALL SAINTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:27 pm

OASIS frontman LIAM GALLAGHER has hailed British girl group ALL SAINTS as "the coolest band around".
But the WONDERWALL singer, who has been in a relationship with All Saint NICOLE APPLETON since 2000 and has a son, GENE, with the singer, insists his opinion is in no way biased.
He believes the band caused a huge stir when they entered the music scene in the late nineties becuase they refused to sugar coat their relationship.
He says, "They were the coolest band around.
"They weren’t like all the other girl bands, with their arms around each other, saying, ‘Ooh, we love each other,’ when it was obvious they didn’t.
"They told it like it was - one of you’s a c**t and other one’s a bitch! It was refreshing and that’s what makes them different." All Saints recently reformed after a five-year hiatus, with a new single called ROCK STEADY.

When the group split, all members were left peniless.
Bellamy Jr says, "My dad was wary of me going into music. In the 1960s he sold millions of records with a band called the Tornados, and even toured with The Beatles, but he never made any money. The business was pretty dodgy back then. He ended up working as a builder."

Drummer Stephen Morris feels they are becoming appreciated less and wants to take time out to give new talent the spotlight. He says, "This is strange time to be New Order. It was good a couple of years ago when everyone was saying we were ‘Godlike Geniuses’ and the fans recognised the band. "There are a lot of New Orders around and we’re the old guys of the neighbourhood, so we should stop for a while and let them take our place.
"I could say there won’t be New Order for a couple of years, but as I said before we’re bad at planning things so let’s see what happens."

and he was doing stuff and I’m really struggling with this scene (and) he looked up to me and he said, ‘You do the same thing every time, daddy.’ "What he was saying is that that’s not natural, that’s not real and he was actually living in every moment and listening and paying attention, whereas I had this performance prepared that I wanted to deliver.
"He broke me and we went into a space where we would just be in the scenes and we’d just talk." Smith and his boy play a father and son who were forced to live on the streets due to a series of unfortunate circumstances.
