British singer JOSS STONE has spent so much time in the US she has developed an American accent.
The 19-year-old soul star surprised guests at the UK Music Hall of Fame ceremony in London on Tuesday (14NOV06) when she stepped on stage and spoke with an American twang.
Her spokesperson explains the change in her accent from south west English to US, "I suppose she has been spending quite a lot of time in American recently.
"She’s been recording an album there, so that may be the reason for it."
