CAINE TRAUMATISED BY CONNERY’S GOLF
Veteran actor SIR MICHAEL CAINE was left in fear of his life when he accepted an invitation from SIR SEAN CONNERY to join him on the golf course.
Caine, who starred alongside the Scottish actor in the 1975 movie THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING, admits their relationship was put in jeopardy when Connery offered to share some sporting tips with him.
He recalls, "Sean tried to teach me golf. I thought he was going to kill me.
"I said, ‘I can’t do it. My body won’t do that.’ But, you see, Sean… he gets in such a temper. He breaks bloody clubs and you say to him, ‘Why do you play golf?’ and he says, ‘Relaxation.’"
