Pop star CHRISTINA AGUILERA is set to guest star on CSI: NEW YORK in February (07).
The episode will feature a storyline about battered women, which is an issue close to Aguilera’s heart - she grew up in an abusive home and is a major contributor to a women’s shelter in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
CSI Executive Producer ANTHONY ZUIKER tells TV Guide magazine, "Christina’s a fan of the show, and we’re excited to have her. The episode will probably explore the topic of battered women." The AIN’T NO OTHER MAN singer isn’t expected to play herself. Aguilera’s music will also be featured in the episode.

TOM CRUISE may have famously jumped on OPRAH WINFREY’s couch to declare his love for fiancee KATIE HOLMES, but Winfrey won’t be attending the couple’s wedding in Italy on Saturday (18NOV06).
The celebrity couple and their entourage arrived in the European country on Monday (13NOV06) and are reportedly getting married in a castle on Lake Bracciano.
Winfrey tells US entertainment show EXTRA, "It’s not that I’m not going. It’s that they had a limited number of people that they could invite. I was not one of the invitees. That’s fine.
"I don’t get invited to everyone’s wedding. I don’t invite them to everything I do. But I wish them the best." Although the media mogul won’t be attending the actual ceremony, she will be sending a wedding present.
She adds, "I have a great deal of regard for their relationship and so I’m trying to think of what to get them.
"I was thinking…I’m easier (to shop for) - you can get me a bubble bath I’m okay - but I don’t know what to give them!"

Oscar winner NICOLAS CAGE will star in a big screen adaptation of Virgin Comics THE SADHU which will be written by spiritual author DEEPAK CHOPRA.
The SEVEN SPIRITUAL LAWS OF SUCCESS author is a co-founder of Virgin Comics, the publishing company bankrolled by SIR RICHARD BRANSON.
The Sadhu was originally created and written by Chopra’s son, GOTHAM, chief creative officer of Virgin Comics, and combines action with mythology from India.
Cage will play JAMES JENSON, a soldier who travels to India during colonial times and becomes a spiritual warrior.
Virgin Comics CEO SHARAD DEVARAJAN says, "The Sadhu is a bold, visual epic that taps into one of India’s most heralded spiritual traditions. " Cage, a huge comics fan, will also star in the Marvel Comics adaptation GHOST RIDER next year (07).
He has also made a deal with Virgin Comics to publish ENIGMA, a voodoo-laced thriller Cage developed with his 15-year-old son WESTON, which may be turned into a feature film too.

LATEST: DENISE RICHARDS came to pal PAMELA ANDERSON’s defence in Canada last week (ends11NOV06) when paparazzi swarmed her after news she had suffered a miscarriage.
Richards grabbed a photographer’s laptop and threw it over a balcony at the River Rock Casino and Hotel in Richmond, British Columbia, where it landed near two elderly women, leaving one slightly bruised.
It was believed Richards had reacted to taunts about her failed relationship to CHARLIE SHEEN, but Anderson now insists it was she who was under attack from snappers.
The former BAYWATCH star says, "These damn paparazzi follow us everywhere and I had an issue happen this week, it was really sad and there was a bunch of paparazzi following us everywhere and she was just protecting me." The two elderly victims were actually fans and had met Anderson and Richards earlier in the day and posed for pictures with them.
Anderson adds, "Nothing happened to them, they were just scared. Poor little ladies!"

LATEST: Reality TV star ANNA NICOLE SMITH is house-hunting in the Bahamas after a former boyfriend threatened to have her removed from his waterfront home.
Smith, who gave recently birth to a daughter in the Bahamas, used the house in Nassau as the basis for her application for permanent residency.
The home has been the subject of an ownership dispute between her and South Carolina businessman G BEN THOMPSON.
The former Playboy Playmate and her companion, HOWARD K STERN, are considering homes on various islands in the Bahamas, according to her attorney WAYNE MUNROE.
If a court rules against her in the property dispute, Munroe said Smith wants to make sure she can meet the condition of owning a home worth at least $500,000 (£278,000) to maintain permanent residency in the Bahamas.
He explained, "What is involved now is a leisurely look at other houses." Thompson claims Smith has not honoured an agreement to pay the mortgage on the Nassau house and recently escalated their feud by having the electricity cut off at the home. It has since been restored.
Thompson’s Bahamian attorney, EMERICK KNOWLES, said the tactic was warranted because Smith has refused multiple requests to vacate the property.
Munroe slams the measure as mean-spirited adding, "They’re trying shenanigans that are totally inappropriate with a woman at home with a newborn child.
"Nobody seems to have any regard for this child."

BRITNEY SPEARS abandoned a recording trip to Miami, Florida last weekend (11-12NOV06) to spend time with her family in Louisiana instead.
The TOXIC star filed from divorce from husband KEVIN FEDERLINE on 07 November (06) and the couple is now involved in a bitter battle to secure custody of their two young sons SEAN PRESTON, 14 months, and JAYDEN JAMES, two months.
Producer PHARRELL WILLIAMS confirmed he was going into the studio with Spears to continue working on her new album, but she reportedly had a change of heart at the last minute and decided to spend quality time with her family after her emotional week.
Spears enjoyed dinner on Monday night (13NOV06) at a restaurant in her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana accompanied by members of her family and was photographed kissing son Sean Preston on the head when he began to cry.
During her stay, she also paid a visit to longtime family friend NYLA PRICE, 55, who owns Nyla’s Burger Basket in nearby Osyka, Mississippi, a Spears family favourite, along with her kids and other friends and family.
Price tells American publication People, "(Spears is) a wonderful mother and she’s doing great right now. She looks beautiful with her cute little short hair cut.
"She’s happy and doing just fine. The babies are gorgeous - both of them are so adorable." According to sources, Spears and her sons left Kentwood today (14NOV06).

MICHAEL JACKSON paid a long overdue visit to the Guinness World Records office today (14NOV06) to pick up his vast collection of certificates.
The singer boasts eight records from his long career in pop including Most Successful Entertainer of All Time, Youngest Vocalist to Top the US Singles Chart and First Vocalist to Enter the US Single Chart at Number One.
As well as the certificates, Jackson was presented with a copy of the latest edition of the book and a special edition from the year he was born (1958).
The 48-year-old visited the London venue ahead of his first UK performance in nearly 10 years tomorrow (15NOV06) where he’ll be collecting another accolade the BEAT IT hitmaker is receiving the Diamond Award at the World Music Awards for selling over 100 million albums.

LATEST: AUDIOSLAVE frontman CHRIS CORNELL and his wife VICKY have unwittingly landed too close for comfort to their alleged stalker while on a trip to London.
The couple have repeatedly received death threats which explicitly detail how the stalker plans to kill Vicky and their children CHRISTOPHER, one, and TONI, three.
Cornell has spent close to $1 million (£555,000) securing his Los Angeles home and hiring security guards for his family.
The rocker thought he was safe enough to travel to the London premiere of CASINO ROYALE this week (begs13NOV06), in which Cornell sings the title song for the film, YOU KNOW MY NAME.
Private investigators hired to look into who was sending the letters say the stalker is British and emailing threats to the couple from a London location close to their hotel.
A source close to the pair tells New York Post’s Page Six the security team was able to trace the threats to a specific location that now appears to be abandoned.
The source says, "Thank God the kids are not with them." The couple’s children are staying "with family" while the pair remain under 24-hour surveillance.

LATEST: DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star EVA LONGORIA has slammed reports she’s teaming up with BEYONCE KNOWLES to play lesbian lovers on screen.
The Hollywood sirens were tipped to star in period piece TIPPING THE VELVET, to be directed by SOFIA COPPOLA.
Based on a raunchy SARAH WATERS novel it tells the tale of an 1890s music hall star and her female lover.
British newspaper the Daily Star claimed both Knowles and Longoria had confirmed the reports, with the pop star adding, "We’ve had BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN so the time is right for this divine novel to get the same treatment." However, Longoria says, "Stop the madness. Believe me, I would love to work with Beyonce one day. She’s so talented. But this is definitely not something we are doing together. It’s completely and absolutely not true.
"What makes me crazy is that there are quotes out there, quotes from me saying it’s true.
"But in fact it’s not true. And (there are) quotes of Beyonce saying it’s about time we had a female Brokeback Mountain. And we’re like, ‘We never said that.’" Knowles’ spokesperson also confirms the story was false: "This is not happening. We’ve never heard of this film."

ALIAS beauty JENNIFER GARNER insists she slimmed down after childbirth by breastfeeding, because she had no intention of abandoning her daughter to hit the gym.
Garner, who is married to Hollywood heart-throb BEN AFFLECK, gave birth to VIOLET in December last year (05) and refused to put her child at risk by exhausting her body with an intense exercise regime.
The 34-year-old says, "(I lost weight) breastfeeding! That and a moderate exercise and eating plan with the help of my personal trainer.

"I am more concerned about keeping healthy and spending time with Violet than anything else."

The 31-year-old says, "I’m hoping to have more kids.
"I don’t know whether (to have) one or two. Oh God, I would love to have more." And Winslet insists the most satisfying part of motherhood is bringing her children up as far away from the Hollywood lifestyle as possible.

LATEST: Veteran actor CHARLES DANCE was "more nervous than on a first night" when he was awarded the Order Of The British Empire (OBE) by QUEEN ELIZABETH II at an investiture ceremony earlier today (14NOV06).
The GOSFORD PARK star was presented with the honour for services to drama over a 35-year career by the British monarch at her Buckingham Palace residence.
The 60-year-old says, "I was more nervous than on a first night at the National (Theatre).
"You just do the best you can do. We were fortunate enough to have Her Majesty come to the opening of the first film I made as a director, LADIES IN LAVENDER, two years ago, so I don’t know if that may have had something to do with it." Dance got his big breakthrough in the 1984 TV epic JEWEL IN THE CROWN and has appeared in ALIEN 3 and LAST ACTION HERO.
Dance can be next seen in British comedy STARTER FOR TEN.
Others receiving honours at the Buckingham Palace ceremony included theatre and opera director DEBORAH WARNER, who will be named a Commander Of The British Empire (CBE) for services to drama, while JAMES GOODFELLOW, inventor of the bank PIN number, will be awarded an OBE.

American comedian DAVE CHAPPELLE has cancelled his performance at Las Vegas’ Comedy Festival on Thursday (16NOV06).
The funnyman has given no reason for pulling out of the show, and his non-appearance will be compensated for by BILL MAHER, who will perform an extended routine.

Crusading actress MIA FARROW has arrived in the African nation of Chad to raise awareness of the plight of people in neighbouring war-torn Sudan.
The ROSEMARY’S BABY star, an ambassador for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), is scheduled to visit a refugee camp but also hopes to journey to a town in east Chad where villagers told UN relief workers they were attacked by a 200-strong group of Arabs on horseback, with accompanying vehicles.
She says, "If possible, I want also to go to the region of Goz Beida to witness and report what is happening there.
"I’m here to witness the suffering and go back to the United States to report it, to make people aware of this situation." Farrow has already visited Darfur twice.
Civil war erupted in the region when rebels took up arms in February 2003. A string of other stars including GEORGE CLOONEY, SIR BOB GELDOF and HEATHER MILLS have also been campaigning for foreign intervention in the crisis in recent months.

Gypsy citizens of Glod are outraged that Cohen ridiculed their lifestyle in BORAT: CULTURAL LEARNINGS OF AMERICA FOR MAKE BENEFIT GLORIOUS NATION OF KAZAKHSTAN, which has topped international box offices, and paid them a pittance to allow farm animals into their homes.
Local leader NICOLAE STAICU will meet with a public ombudsman tomorrow (15NOV06) to formulate legal action against Cohen and distributor 20th Century Fox.
Staicu accused the producers of paying locals just $4 (£2.20) to perform degrading acts, misleading the village into thinking filming was for a documentary and refusing to sign proper filming contracts.
Resident DANA LUCA, 40, says, "We thought they came here to help us - not mock us. We haven’t got anything here. We haven’t got running water. We can’t even bathe. We are poor people, but we are still people."

Pop singer JAMELIA has blasted the British media for printing reports her fiance DARREN BYFIELD had cheated on her, because they made her doubt the soccer player’s fidelity.
British newspaper the Daily Mirror alleged that Byfield cheated on the THANK YOU singer with model JACLYN EVANS last month (OCT06), and that he had moved out of their Essex, England, home after a series of blazing rows.
Jamelia, 25, insists there was no foundation to the reports, and is still berating herself for temporarily losing trust in her fiance.
She says, "It was all crap, but it was absolutely devastating.
"The worst thing was that for those two hours (after reading the reports) I doubted Darren and that’s what hurts me more than anything."

R&B star AKON struggled with recording sessions for GWEN STEFANI’s second album, because her baby son KINGSTON constantly cut her vocals short.
The LONELY hitmaker is producing tracks for the follow up to LOVE ANGEL MUSIC BABY and became annoyed when Stefani kept interrupting sessions to attend to Kingston.
