The heir was just 13 when he confided with his mother about his secret crush and the princess arranged for Crawford to make a special visit.
Crawford, who was 29 at the time, was thrilled with the honour, but wasn’t sure how to present herself.
The catwalk queen confesses, "It was a little awkward. He was a boy, so I didn’t want to look too trampy. But I didn’t want to look dowdy either.
"I somehow had to look supermodel for a kid."
