AUSTRALIAN SOAP STAR EMMETT LOSES CANCER BATTLE
Australian soap actress BELINDA EMMETT, best known for her role in HOME AND AWAY, has lost her battle with cancer. She was just 32.
Emmett was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 24. She went into remission, but was diagnosed with secondary bone cancer in 2001.
She passed away at a hospital in Sydney, Australia yesterday (11NOV06) with her TV host husband ROVE McMANUS and other members of her family by her side.
In a statement, her family said, "It is with great sadness we advise that Belinda’s battle with cancer has ended." Emmett played REBECCA FISHER, later REBECCA NASH, in Home And Away between 1996 and 1999. She went on to play nurse JODI HORNER in hospital drama ALL SAINTS.
