CMAS BOSS DEFENDS FAITH HILL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 am

LATEST: The boss of the Country Music Association has become the latest big name to support FAITH HILL following the controversy over her outburst at the CMA Awards on Monday night (06NOV06).
CLARENCE SPALDING, the CMA Board President, has issued a statement defending singer Hill’s behaviour at the Nashville, Tennessee telecast, during which she appeared to be angry and appalled that she had lost the Best Female Artist prize to AMERICAN IDOL star CARRIE UNDERWOOD.
Hill insists she was joking when she screamed "What?" into the camera focused on her backstage as the nominees waited to hear if they’d won the coveted award, and Spalding admits he’s inclined to believe her.
He says, "Having been there, I can assure you that Faith was in no way being disrespectful of Carrie Underwood or her accomplishments.
"It was a playful moment caught on camera that has been blown out of proportion and taken out of context. Faith has always shown the utmost respect for country music artists and the CMA Awards."
