Actress EMMA THOMPSON feared she’d be burying her daughter’s pet hamster when it fell into a bowl of soup.
The British star bought her six-year-old a Russian dwarf hamster as a gift and was horrified when she found it swimming for its life when her daughter let the little rodent out for a little dinner time exercise.
She says, "One day it climbed up into her soup bowl and fell in… My daughter grabbed it and I said, ‘Quickly, do something,’ so she ran it under the tap.
"By that time it had been in the tomato soup long enough to be dyed slightly kind of pink around the bum area." Meanwhile, the pet has wreaked havoc in Thompson’s kitchen: "He’s been in the jam cupboard so many times now that there are no labels left on any of my jams."
