CAINE’S FIRST MOVIE NERVES
Acting legend SIR MICHAEL CAINE was physically sick when he first caught a glimpse of himself acting in a movie.
The British star made his major big screen debut in ZULU.
He says, "We were in South Africa and I was making a picture called Zulu and I’d never played a big part in a movie, I’d had a couple of lines and I’d never been invited to rushes, I was just a small part, bit actor and you always have a vision of yourself which is good things about yourself and I went to rushes and this figure come on, a weird looking figure with this very strange voice and I thought, what a berk. And then I thought, it’s me and threw up.
"You do, the movie camera really gets into you and it’s a big screen and you think you’re so great and then you look up and go oh my god and I thought my career was over."
