LINDSAY LOHAN will return to playing dual roles on the big screen for the first time since she played twins in the 1998 remake THE PARENT TRAP.
The actress is set to star in thriller I KNOW WHO KILLED ME as AUBREY JORDAN, the young daughter of affluent parents who is abducted and mutilated by a sadistic serial killer.
After managing to escape after being tortured and having her hand cutoff, she regains consciousness in hospital and insists that she is not Aubrey, but DAKOTA, Aubrey’s identical twin sister who has a much different demeanour.
Dakota struggles to convince anyone that she is not Aubrey and that her sister’s life is still in danger.
The film will begin shooting next month (DEC06) on location in San Luis Obispo, California and in Los Angeles.

Pop star NICK LACHEY’s stunning new girlfriend VANESSA MINNILLO is undergoing a drastic ‘makeunder’ to sample life as an ugly, fat girl.
The MTV US presenter donned a fat suit, unkempt dark wig, prosthetics and braces on her teeth and hit the streets of New York to film people’s responses to larger folk for TV news show ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT.
The seven-part series, which looks at the way society treats overweight people, was inspired by SALMA HAYEK’s hit new TV show UGLY BETTY, which focuses on the struggles of a plain Latina working for a high-profile glamour magazine.
Minnillo who admits she was devastated by people’s reactions to her as a fat woman: "We want to believe we don’t judge people from the outside in, when in fact, we still do.
"At times the discrimination against me in my ugly disguise was almost too much to take - stares, rude comments, being shoved out of the way and, even more painful, being treated like I didn’t exist at all."

Pop star MADONNA is sporting a bruise on her cheek after being shoved by paparazzi at London’s Heathrow airport over the weekend (ends05NOV06) - while she was holding her adopted son.
The star returned to her home in London from New York City where she had spent the week promoting her newest children’s book TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, along with her US TV concert special.
A source close to the singer tells American publication People, "She had the baby in her arms when it happened.
"When she landed in London, there was a lot of pushing and shoving. She was jostled around. She got hit in the paparazzi’s commotion." Madonna’s one-year-old son DAVID, whom she is in the process of adopting from Malawi, was not hurt in the scuffle.
The source adds, "Thank God the baby is OK."

The BATMAN BEGINS sequel is shrouded in such secrecy that HEATH LEDGER is being forced to prepare for his portrayal of villain THE JOKER based on a glimpse of the script.
The Aussie actor reveals secretive director CHRIS NOLAN refused to let him leave his house with the script for THE DARK KNIGHT and so he’s planning the character based on memory.
Ledger explains, "I don’t have a script. I’ve read it once at Chris Nolan’s house but he wouldn’t let me leave with it.
"I do have a plan of attack already and an understanding of the role but, at this point, I’m working solo because Chris Nolan is still busy promoting THE PRESTIGE and he’s still rewriting the script." Ledger is, however, convinced he’ll have no problems perfecting the colourful character - because he was destined to play The Joker.
He adds, "The offer motivated me to take it, the opportunity to play this guy. Somewhere inside I kind of knew instantly what to do with it. I didn’t feel like I had to suffer for this role."

The FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS actor buys into the myth that divine intervention follows Eastwood everywhere thanks to a generous moment when the movie star gave up his trailer for THE POPE.
Phillippe explains, "There’s this story about how one time Clint was doing a movie in Italy and The Pope was nearby and they needed to secure him, so he gave up his trailer for The Pope.
"They say that ever since then there’s been some kind of divine intervention on every one of his movies.
"His production days go without a hitch - you’ll get up in the morning and it will look like it’s going to rain, but when he shows up on set, the clouds part."

Actress CLORIS LEACHMAN will reprise her FRAU BLUCHER character from the cult 1974 movie YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN for the 2007 stage musical.
The 80-year-old actress is the only original cast member from the MEL BROOKS comedy to return for the stage production, which will open on Broadway next Hallowe’en (31OCT07).
KRISTIN CHENOWETH, BRYAN D’ARCY JAMES and ROGER BART are also slated to star in the musical, in roles played on the big screen by TERI GARR, GENE WILDER and MARTY FELDMAN, respectively.

NASCAR driver JEFF GORDON wed Belgian model INGRID VANDEBOSCH in a private ceremony in Mexico yesterday (07NOV06).
The newlyweds will ‘honeymoon’ in Phoenix, Arizona and Miami, Florida - the site of the final two events in the 2006 NASCAR season.
The official honeymoon will take place in an undisclosed location once the season ends.
Gordon, 35, is a four-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion.
This will be his second marriage. He divorced his wife of nine years, JENNIFER BROOKE SEALY, in 2003.
Vandebosch, 37, began modelling when she was 16-years-old and has also had bit parts in such films as GOING GREEK and TAXI.

Comedian BILL COSBY has settled a civil lawsuit filed by a woman who said the entertainer drugged and sexually assaulted her at his home outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Terms of the settlement will remain confidential, according to a statement issued on Wednesday (08NOV06) by the woman’s law firm.
Cosby’s publicist DAVID BROKAW confirmed the settlement and said there would be no further comment.
The woman claimed that Cosby, 69, assaulted her at his mansion in Cheltenham in early 2004, after giving her pills.
Attorneys for Cosby say he gave the woman over-the-counter sleeping medication Benadryl, after she complained of stress and sleeping problems.
The federal judge presiding over the case earlier denied Cosby’s request for a gag order and the plaintiff’s request to shield the names of dozen other women who say Cosby assaulted them.
The plaintiff, a native of Ontario, Canada, who is in her 30s, previously worked at Temple University in Philadelphia, which touts Cosby as one of its most famous alumni.
The woman, who previously called Cosby a friend and mentor, went to police nearly a year after the encounter, but Montgomery County prosecutors declined to file criminal charges.

Country crooner BILLY RAY CYRUS’ bubbly daughter has stunned the US pop charts for a second successive week after keeping BARRY MANILOW’s covers album off the top of the Billboard 200.
MILEY CYRUS’ HANNAH MONTANA soundtrack has enjoyed a second 200,000-plus sales week to stay at the top of the charts, beating off a charge from Manilow’s new release THE GREATEST SONGS OF THE SIXTIES, which debuts at two, selling just 1,000 copies less (202,000) than Cyrus album.
Rappers BIRDMAN and LIL WAYNE’s collaborative album LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON, debuts at number three.
New albums from JOHN LEGEND and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE both slip a place at number four and five respectively, while rockers THE WHO return to the top 10 with their best week on the charts since 1981’s FACE DANCES debuted at number four.
PETE TOWNSHEND and ROGER DALTREY hold the new number seven slot.

Country star KEITH URBAN gave clues about his alcoholism troubles in one of his final magazine interviews before checking into rehab.
The singer’s sit-down chat with American men’s magazine Best Life came just over two weeks before Urban came clean about his drinking problems and sought counselling.
In the interview, which appears in the upcoming December 2006 issue of the health and style publication, Urban urged fellow addicts and "souls at sea" to talk about their problems.
He said, "Start communicating with the people around you… Everyone gets overwhelmed at points, but it’s when you think you can handle it yourself and you don’t reach out for help. That’s when the end is near." He adds, "Recognise that you are about the tyre (and) that drowning is looming. I’ve definitely been that drowning guy, and, in the midst of drowning, I thought, ‘I wonder if I should put my hand up?’"

BRITNEY SPEARS’ first husband JASON ALEXANDER is ready to reunite with the pop superstar after hearing her two-year marriage to KEVIN FEDERLINE is over, according to his dad.
DENNIS ALEXANDER reveals his son, who spent just 55 hours as Spears’ husband at the beginning of 2004, is currently "shopping" a book deal around Los Angeles and he will be offering his ex support as she plans to divorce dancer Federline.
Alexander’s father tells US TV news show EXTRA, "He’s 25 and he’s got a mind of his own, but I’m sure he’ll be calling her soon." And the man who was briefly Spears’ father-in-law insists the pop superstar made a big mistake when she agreed to annul her marriage to his son.

Rock star COURTNEY LOVE was shocked when high-powered Hollywood attorney HOWARD WEITZMAN contacted her and told her he would be willing to represent her in her legal battles for free.
The MALIBU star was arrested for allegedly attacking a woman with a liquor bottle at her ex-boyfriend’s home, as well as for drug possession.
She insists her legal troubles are now behind and credits Weitzman, who has also represented OJ SIMPSON and MICHAEL JACKSON, for giving her a chance at a new life.
She explains, "The thing is this great lawyer came in and saved the day. He’s a great guy named HOWARD WEITZMAN. Came in for free.
"For most people it costs a lot of money to sit down with Howard.
"He came in and said, ‘I’ll represent you if you stop doing drugs, because I don’t like representing guilty people.’ "I’ve honoured that for a year and three months now. I look better, feel better, (but) I have to deal with pain…which is not so fun."

Troubled British rocker PETE DOHERTY has been fined $1,350 (£750) by a London court after pleading guilty to the assault of a BBC reporter.
The BABYSHAMBLES frontman, 27, originally denied kicking a microphone out of the hand of Radio 1 Newsbeat journalist TRUDI BARBER in March 2005, but was forced to change his plea after television footage proved otherwise.
Doherty was charged with assault by beating after hurting Barber’s hand outside Thames Magistrates’ Court. The reporter said the pain from her hand spread to the shoulder and she was prescribed painkillers for the pain.
After Doherty referred to Barber as "harassing scum of press", Magistrate HELEN SKINNER told the singer he could not complain about media attention because he was well-known for his publicity-seeking.
Skinner said, "Referring to the press as scum does no one any favours. You were obviously courting publicity judging by your somewhat extravagant behaviour outside the court.
"People in public life have a responsibility to behave and be a good role model to others." Doherty has been given seven days to pay the fine after claiming he only had £0.27 ($0.48) on him.

BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN star HEATH LEDGER’s second outing as a gay man raised laughs at a screening of his new movie.
In CANDY Ledger plays a junkie who resorts to gay sex to fund his drug habit, but worries his weedy body will let him down.
In the movie, his character DAN tells on-screen girlfriend ABBIE CORNISH, "I wouldn’t know what to do. (Gays) want muscle hunks. I’d be hopeless." Audience members at the Cinema Society/Cole Haan screening found Ledger’s words rather amusing, breaking into giggles after hearing of Dan’s modesty.
But Ledger admits it was all a bit of fun, telling the New York Daily News "(the film) needs some comic relief."

Pop beauty BEYONCE KNOWLES has started collecting African-American art, after deciding flash cars devalue too quickly.
The former DESTINY’S CHILD singer, 25, bought her first and only car nine years ago, and has resisted the temptation from following her boyfriend JAY-Z’s passion for Bentleys and Mercedes.
She says, "I figured I needed to invest in something and I really love art.
"I don’t buy cars. The first cheque I got when I was 16, I bought a car and I haven’t bought a car since.
"I don’t buy jewellery. I bought a really big diamond ring when I was 16, wore it and everyone said I was engaged, so I was like, ‘I can’t even wear it.’ I haven’t bought anything else since. I really am kinda cheap."
