JACKSON STRUGGLED WITH ‘BITCH’ NICKNAME

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:54 am

JANET JACKSON’s struggles with self-esteem issues, growing up as the youngest Jackson, were multiplied when she started working with producers JIMMY JAM and TERRY LEWIS because they kept calling her a bitch.
The super-sensitive singer felt sure the hitmakers were ridiculing her and calling her names - like her brothers had done while she was growing up - and she’d break down in tears during phonecalls to her mum.
She explains, "They used to call me bitch, and I hated that… I called up my mother and said, ‘I wanna come home because these guys don’t have any respect for women.’ "But I came to realise that it was just a term of endearment." Jackson admits she has been haunted by body image issues her whole life, and used to hate looking at herself in a mirror.
She explains, "I couldn’t look at myself in the mirror without having to really focus on something that I liked about myself, and I would break out crying."
