Wildlife wedding
A UK couple have shocked friends and family by asking for exotic animals as wedding presents.
Damon and Joannah Barnard, from Chester, shunned the usual household essentials like toasters and crockery for lions, elephants, zebras, rhinos and penguins.
Damon, a solicitor, decided to ask his wedding guests to buy shares in Chester Zoo’s adoption scheme.
He revealed: "Joannah chose most of the animals and went for cute, cuddly ones. But I did manage to sneak a giant tortoise on the list." The wedding list included: spectacled bears, bongos, ring-tailed lemurs, capybaras, coatis, chimpanzees, Asian elephants, giraffes, jaguars, meerkats, spider monkeys, orang-utans, penguins, marmots, red pandas, red river hogs, Californian sealions, black rhinos, tamarins, tapirs, Galapagos tortoise.
