SEPULTURA BROTHERS END FEUD, PLAN 2007 REUNION
The original line-up of Brazilian heavy metal group SEPULTURA is to reunite after brothers MAX and IGOR CAVALERA ended their decade-long silence.
The siblings fell out in 1996 when Max’s stepson DANA WELLS was killed in a car crash and his mother GLORIA, Sepultura’s manager, opted to take time out to grieve her loss rather than join the group on tour.
Igor and his bandmates then hired a new manager, infuriating Max, who quit the band to support his wife. He went on to form SOULFLY.
The two brothers patched up their differences recently after Igor reached out to his brother by phone when Soulfly were touring through Europe.
Max says, "First, he apologised to Gloria for what happened with Sepultura, and then he said, ‘I don’t want to see you in a coffin, like some other families. I want to see you while you’re still alive." The reformed group is now working on scheduling dates for next summer’s (07) Ozzfest tour after drummer Igor joined his brother onstage for a Sepultura medley at the D-Low Festival in Arizona in August (06).
