LATEST: Crusading actress ANGELINA JOLIE has been threatened with legal action after accusing a Cambodian charity of stealing.
The TOMB RAIDER star recently broke off an agreement with wildlife group Cambodian Vision In Development, in which she had committed to a $1.5 million (£833,333) donation spread over five years.
But she pulled out of the contract and set up her own organisation after allegedly branding a charity worker a thief.
Now the organisation is threatening to sue for libel and breach of contract if Jolie doesn’t apologise for her comments.
Cambodian Vision In Development head MOUNH SARATH says, "I have been asking Jolie and her lawyer to give me an appropriate answer, but so far no answer.
"Now I give her one week and if there is still no answer I will a file suit in the local court of Battambang." Jolie has since started up the Maddox Jolie Project, which is named after her eldest child, Cambodian-born MADDOX, five.

SUPERMAN II will be released in a radically different form this month (NOV06), as the director who was fired midway through filming has finally been given the chance to unveil his vision over a quarter of a century after the sequel first hit cinemas.
In an episode that has passed into Hollywood folklore, RICHARD DONNER was sacked by producers ALEXANDER and ILYA SALKIND in March 1979 over fears of the follow-up’s dark tone and a spiralling budget.
But Warner Bros has now agreed to release Superman II, which originally came out in 1980, as Donner had intended, following an online petition signed by Man Of Steel fans around the world.
The ‘new’ version features 15 minutes of unseen footage of MARLON BRANDO playing the father of CHRISTOPHER REEVE’s Superman.
It also only uses 20 per cent of the footage shot by Donner’s replacement RICHARD LESTER, who received sole credit at the time.
SUPERMAN II: THE RICHARD DONNER CUT, which is released on DVD on 20 November, also contains rehearsal footage of Reeve and co-star MARGOT KIDDER to make up for some scenes Donner didn’t have an opportunity to shoot.

British screenwriter NIGEL KNEALE died yesterday (31OCT06) following a long battle with ill health. He was 84.
Kneale is best known for writing the hit British TV show THE QUATERMASS EXPERIMENT which debuted in 1953 and was the UK’s first sci-fi serial.
Both STEPHEN KING and JOHN CARPENTER cite Kneale and his lead character BERNARD QUATERMASS as an inspiration, with his rivetting tale of an alien brought back to Earth on a rocket.
ROBERT SIMPSON, writing on Hammer Film’s website, says, "(It was) event television, emptying the streets and pubs for the six weeks of its duration." Kneale is survived by his wife JUDITH KERR - the creator of the MEG AND MOG children’s books - and his two children.

But politician KASYMZHOMART TOKAYEV has taken great offence to the way his country is lampooned in the movie, and is advising Europeans to shun it when the film is officially released later this week (ends03NOV06).
He says, "Apart from the name of our country and our flag, it has nothing to do with us.
"I also hope people will not laugh at us, but that the film will arouse their interest. They should come to our country and get to know the real Kazakhstan." STEVE IRWIN’s widow made an emotional appearance at Britain’s National Television Awards last night (31OCT06) when she stood in for her late husband to pay tribute to naturalist SIR DAVID ATTENBOROUGH.
Wearing the CROCODILE HUNTER’s trademark khaki, TERRI IRWIN was reduced to tears as she recalled how her husband’s work had been influenced by the veteran British presenter, who was given the Lifetime Achievement Award at the London ceremony.
She said, "I promised I wasn’t going to cry. But I’m especially pleased to be here, because if there’s one person that directly inspired my husband it’s this man." Attenborough returned the compliment by paying tribute to Irwin’s own work, saying, "He taught them (his audience) how wonderful and exciting (nature) was.

LATEST: A man indicted alongside WESLEY SNIPES on eight counts of tax fraud was arrested in Panama yesterday (31OCT06) and flown to Florida where he will appear in an Orlando court today (01NOV06).
EDDIE RAY KAHN stands accused of promoting tax dodging schemes which Snipes allegedly used in a bid to cheat the US government out of $12 million (£6.4 million) in false refund claims.
Court papers allege Kahn’s company American Rights Litigators stood to receive 20 per cent of any refund Snipes was granted.
The BLADE action star has been shooting new horror movie GALLOWWALKER in Namibia since August (06) and has no immediate plans to return to America, where a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Former South African President and apartheid stalwart PW BOTHA died in his sleep yesterday (31OCT06). He was 90.
The retired politician passed away at his home in the Western Cape.
During his term in office in the 1980s, Botha attracted international criticism for his propagation of South Africa’s racial divide but he did make small steps to involve the African National Congress (ANC) party in politics by meeting its then jailed deputy president NELSON MANDELA.
Mandela notes his death serves as a reminder of the country’s "horribly divided past".
He adds, "While to many Mr Botha will remain a symbol of apartheid, we also remember him for the steps he took to pave the way towards the eventual peacefully negotiated settlement in our country." Botha lived in relative obscurity after being forced from office in 1989 by FW DE KLERK. He refused to acknowledge his role in apartheid-era atrocities, including the bombing of the South African Council of Churches’ headquarters, despite damning findings made by the post-apartheid Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

The rapper - real name EARL SIMMONS - has designed the DMX and DMX Signature collections which include a range of designer apparel, footwear, head wear and outer wear.

LATEST: THE ROLLING STONES have disappointed even more fans by cancelling an upcoming concert in Hawaii and rescheduling three other performances.
The rock veterans are already facing a $51 million (£28.3 million) fan lawsuit after they axed their concert in Atlantic City, New Jersey at short notice on Friday (27OCT06), when singer SIR MICK JAGGER fell ill with a throat infection.
Now a 22 November (06) date scheduled for Honolulu’s Aloha Stadium - the band’s first in Hawaii since 1998 - has been scrapped too, although it is unknown why.
The second North American leg of their Bigger Bang world tour will now end on 25 November (06) in Vancouver, Canada, which was due to host the BROWN SUGAR hitmakers on Friday (03NOV06). Shows in Oakland, California and Los Angeles will also be pushed back until 6 and 22 November respectively.
However, The Rolling Stones’ rescheduled Hallowe’en show at New York’s Beacon Theater, which is being taped for a DVD by director MARTIN SCORSESE, will go ahead tonight (01NOV06).

Rockers MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE are hoping to capitalise on the huge success of their theatrical new album by turning the record into a stage musical.
THE BLACK PARADE stormed international charts last month (OCT06) while its dark themes of death and cancer sparked frenzied media debate.
And singer GERARD WAY is confident the music will translate equally well to stage or screen.
He says, "I think (The Black Parade) needs to be something.
"If not a play then a musical. It’s such a visual thing. I think it would make a great animated film, something experimental would really work for this.
"It’d also be really interesting to rewrite the script so when you make it into a movie it should be something almost totally different. There should be elements of a rock band in that, or maybe this character has a rock band. It would be cool to maybe play with the notions of what you’re making than just simply tell the story." The Black Parade charts the premature death of a man loosely based on Way himself.
Rockers GREEN DAY are also working on a movie treatment for their 2004 hit AMERICAN IDIOT.

KYLIE MINOGUE will resume her cancer-interrupted world tour in Australia next week (11NOV06), when she takes to the stage in Sydney.
The pop star’s record label confirmed the show earlier today (01NOV06), which was put on hold last year (05) when Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer.
But after undergoing successful surgery in Melbourne in May 2005, and a course of chemotherapy in Paris, the 38-year-old singer is ready to perform the re-named Showgirl Homecoming Tour.
In recent months, she’s made occasional appearances in public, including a TV interview, a book signing in London and Dolce & Gabbana’s catwalk show in Milan.

The actress, who played browbeaten characters in ‘The Good Girl’ and ‘Friends With Money’, believes she landed the roles because she can empathise with those emotions.

The ‘All the King’s Men’ actress - who recently admitted her naked sex scenes in the movie left her feeling "sick" - says she has had enough of onscreen nudity.
She said: "With ‘All the King’s Men’, in which there was a little bit of nudity, I thought, ‘Well that’s it, my nudity days are over.’ I’ve got two kids, I can’t get away with it anymore. It’s a very uncomfortable thing to do." However, the 31-year-old star admits she felt nudity was necessary for her role in ‘Little Children’.
She added in an interview with Britain’s Culture magazine: "I read the script of ‘Little Children’ and thought, ‘This is really good, but there’s lots of nudity in it.’ I knew the film wouldn’t work if those scenes weren’t there, though." Kate says she managed to get through the sex scenes - including one where she sits completely naked on top of a washing machine - by making light of the situation.
She said: "It’s so weird, but you need to have a laugh doing it.
"To say you almost forget you are naked would be a lie, but you do get to a point where you get over the embarrassment. We were much more focused on the performance, not on thinking, ‘Do my boobs look good?’ "

People in many parts of the States are not used to getting cosy with camp foreigners so the fur will fly!"
