COLOMBIAN VICE PRESIDENT CRITICAL OF MOSS’ RETURN TO GRACE
Colombian Vice President FRANCISCO SANTOS is dismayed at the success KATE MOSS has enjoyed following her cocaine scandal last year (05), because the narcotic continues to tear his country apart.
The British supermodel was publicly shamed when photographs of her snorting cocaine were published last September, and she lost a series of lucrative modelling contracts in the wake of her disgrace.
But, after issuing a public apology and spending time in rehab, Moss is now earning more money than ever - and Santos blames celebrities like Moss for glamorising cocaine.
He says, "We need to tell Europeans that that line of coke they snort is tainted in blood. To me it’s baffling, that somebody who helps cause so much pain in Colombia is doing better than ever and winning more contracts than ever." Colombia is the world’s largest cocaine producer and the South American country’s government has been over-run by civil war and drug cartels for decades. Santos is currently in Europe launching his ‘The Cocaine Curse’ campaign to raise awareness on the continent of the destruction caused by the narcotic.
