Actor-turned-politician ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER found it difficult explaining his career change to his kids because they were such huge fans of his movie roles.
The TERMINATOR star gave up acting to become governor of California in 2003, but the decision was hugely unpopular at home.
He says, "They (kids) don’t like my job. They used to come to the movie set and see me running out as The Terminator.
"They can’t figure out why I would like to go from a $20 million job to a $1 job."

"If human rights and freedoms were not being violated, if Kazakhstan did not become famous for its corruption scandals around the world, then Sacha Cohen would’ve chosen some other country for his jokes."

Veteran British actor WILLIAM FRANKLYN has died following a long battle with prostate cancer. He was 80.
Franklyn is best known for the famous 1960s and 1970s "Schhh… You Know Who" Schweppes TV adverts in his homeland, but also enjoyed a successful 50-year stage, TV, radio and film acting career.
Franklin debuted on the London stage aged 15 and later took the lead role in TV drama TOP SECRET before taking parts in a number of British television comedies, including FRENCH AND SAUNDERS.
His film career took in such movies as SPLITTING HEIRS and CUL-DE-SAC.
He is survived by his wife SUSANNA and three daughters.

Reclusive superstar MICHAEL JACKSON has spoken out about the collaborations on his forthcoming album - and was blown away by working with THE BLACK EYED PEAS rapper WILL.I.AM.
The THRILLER singer is busy working in an Irish recording studio on the follow-up to 2001’s INVINCIBLE and has also joined forces with RON ‘NEFF U’ FEEMSTER and TEDDY RILEY.

He tells US TV show Access Hollywood, "I like what he (Will.I.Am) is doing and thought it would be interesting to collaborate or just see how the chemistry worked. I think he’s doing wonderful, innovative, positive, great music.

Pop superstar GEORGE MICHAEL will lend a piano previously owned by JOHN LENNON to an anti-war exhibition in America in December (06).
The former BEATLE composed his anthemic IMAGINE on the upright piano - not the instrument featured in the video for the song - and it will be transported to Dallas, Texas for the exhibition organised by Michael’s partner KENNY GOSS.
Goss, who owns the Goss Gallery in Dallas, says, "We decided to do it in Dallas, because what better place is there to reiterate how important peace is? "Dallas is (President) George Bush’s home. It’s a great place to remind people how important it is that we find peace." Michael bought the piano at auction in 2000 for more than $2 million (£1.1 million).

Rapper 50 CENT has a bizarre deal with the mother of his son - they take turns spending a whole year with nine-year-old MARQUISE.
Rather than split regular custody of Marquise, each spends a year with him and then hands him over to the other.
50 Cent insists the system works and has helped him develop a strong relationship with his only child.
He says, "My boy is my biggest priority in life. I have an arrangement with his mother that he spends a year with her and then a year with me.
"I’d like to have him with me all the time. He looks and he thinks like me.
He heard me creating music before I had money or success, so he feels like he has a superhero for a dad.

Paramount Studios boss SUMNER REDSTONE’s wife convinced him to sack TOM CRUISE, because she "and women everywhere had come to hate him".
Redstone sensationally axed the studio’s deal with MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE star Cruise earlier this year (06), blaming his famous couch-jumping appearance on OPRAH WINFREY’s TV show for embarrassing the studio and hampering the performance of sequel MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III.
During an appearance on US TV show TODAY, Cruise also criticised BROOKE SHIELDS’ use of anti-depressant medication when she was diagnosed with post-partum depression following the birth of her first child.
And in a new interview with Vanity Fair magazine, Redstone insists he has no regrets about his public ditching of Cruise.
He says, "He was embarrassing the studio. And he was costing us a lot of money. $100 million, $150 million on Mission: Impossible III. It was the best picture of the three, and it did the worst." Explaining his wife’s role in the decision, he adds, "Paula, like women everywhere, had come to hate him. The truth of the matter is, I did listen to her. His behaviour was entirely unacceptable to Paula and to the rest of the world. He just didn’t turn one (woman) off. He turned off all women, and a lot of men.
"When did I decide (to fire him)? I don’t know. When he was on the TODAY show? When he was jumping on a couch at OPRAH? He changed his handler, you know, to his sister (LeANNE DEVETTE) - not a good idea.
"The explosion was good. It sent a message to the rest of the world that the time of the big star getting all this money is over. And it is! I would like to think that what I did, or what we did, has had a salutary effect on the rest of the industry."

LATEST: British funnyman SACHA BARON COHEN has signed a $42.5 million (£22 million) film deal with Universal Pictures, confirming he is to bring his Austrian fashionista TV character BRUNO to the silver screen.
Bruno, famous for flaunting his homosexuality at uptight macho men, will be the third Cohen creation to hit the big screen after BORAT: CULTURAL LEARNINGS OF AMERICA FOR MAKE BENEFIT GLORIOUS NATION OF KAZAKHSTAN and ALI G INDAHOUSE.
According to Hollywood Reporter, the studio has agreed to pay the sum for the film rights, and a production budget of up to $25 million (£13.1 million).
Cohen hopes to shoot the film next year (07).

ROBBIE WILLIAMS sent a grovelling letter of apology to OASIS stars NOEL and LIAM GALLAGHER after a track attacking them appeared on his new album.
Williams claims he was unaware D**KHEAD made the cut for RUDEBOX and sent the note to the pair - with whom he has had a longterm feud - begging for forgiveness.
But songwriter Noel is unmoved by the track and more so by Williams’ apology.
He says, "I haven’t heard the album - I doubt I will - apparently that’s the best track on it.

The RAMBO star’s big screen career has slipped in recent years, and he holds the embarrassing accolade of the most Golden Raspberry Awards of any actor.

Friel says, "Gracie plays my daughter. I’d heard they’d cast FAMKE JANSSEN but I read the script and fell in love with it. I’ve never written a letter to a director in my life but it made him change his mind and give me the part."
