Up-and-coming British rockers THE HORRORS’ frontman FARIS BADWAN hates scary movies despite his band’s name.
The singer is amazed people assume he loves gore-soaked films just because he wears black clothes and is in The Horrors.
He says, "We’re not a goth band and I’ve never been into emo. There’s a misconception that just because we wear black, we’re goths. What about respectable city workers in black suits? Are they goths? "I also hate B-movie horror, and anyone who associates us with that sort of thing has no idea what we’re all about. I’ve got no time for buckets of blood, gore or zombies.
"The name The Horrors has nothing to do with horror films. It is more like something affectionate that our grandparents might call us, as in, ‘Oh, you’re a bunch of little horrors.’"
