Hollywood couple TOM CRUISE and KATIE HOLMES have confirmed reports they are to wed in Italy on 18 November (06).
The MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE actor, 44, and BATMAN BEGINS beauty, 27, will marry in an undisclosed region of Italy on 18 November - exactly 19 months to the day of their first date (18APR05).
The couple have a romantic link to Italy - they were ‘outed’ as a couple in the capital Rome, where Cruise picked up a national award for his contribution to cinema.
Just two months later, Cruise proposed to Holmes at the top of the Eiffel Tower in France and in April this year (18APR06) they welcomed daughter SURI.
The couple’s ARNOLD ROBINSON confirms to Us Weekly magazine the wedding is set for 18 November, saying, "Those details are correct," adding, "Proper security measures are being taken," for the ceremony to remain private.
Meanwhile, Italian designer GIORGIO ARMANI will dress the couple on their big day, saying, "It really is an honour to play a small role in that milestone moment." The marriage will be the first for Holmes, who was engaged to AMERICAN PIE star CHRIS KLIEN until February 2005.
Cruise had been married twice before, to MIMI ROGERS (87-90) and NICOLE KIDMAN (90-01). He has two adopted children, ISABELLA and CONNOR from his marriage with Kidman.

Troubled British rocker PETE DOHERTY was involved in a bloody brawl with an Italian photographer in Rome last night (23OCT06).
The BABYSHAMBLES frontman reportedly threw himself at the snapper and punched him several times in the face before the bloodied singer was dragged away by band mates.
The police were not called but the photographer was said to have gone to hospital for treatment.
A witness tells London newspaper the Evening Standard, "(Doherty’s head) was dripping with blood".
The incident happened outside their hotel hours after the band’s gig at the Italian capital, which itself was marred in controversy after the singer threw a microphone stand into the audience after a concertgoer flung a bottle at the band’s drummer.
KATE MOSS’ on/off boyfriend then pushed over amplifiers and the drum kit before smashing another microphone stand several times before walking off.
There were no reports of any injuries at the concert.

American film-makers PETER and BOBBY FARRELLY have signed up to produce a US pilot of little-known BBC Three sitcom I’M WITH STUPID.
The DUMB AND DUMBER brothers will give the British TV show a heavyweight Hollywood makeover, which is being backed by the same company behind the Stateside adaptation of British comedy THE OFFICE.
The original UK version of I’m With Stupid, which features actors with various disabilities, stars MARK BENTON as a homeless man who moves into a sheltered housing complex.
BBC Worldwide’s PAUL TELEGDY says, "We’re very excited to be working with some of the best talent in Hollywood, who will re-craft BBC titles to appeal to an American audience whilst retaining the true vision of the original creators."

Chinese musical PERHAPS LOVE is leading the nominations at this year’s (06) Golden Horse Award, garnering 12 nominations at the Chinese Oscar equivalent.
The movie, about a love triangle which develops during the making of a musical in China, will compete for the Asian industry’s most coveted gongs in categories including Best Director for Hong Kong-born PETER CHAN, Best Actress for China’s ZHOU XUN and competing against CRAZY STONE, EXILED, SILK, and AFTER THIS OUR EXILE for Best Film.

Bollywood star HRITHIK ROSHAN is recovering after falling from a horse during rehearsals for his new movie JODHA-AKBAR.
The 32-year-old actor was learning to ride at the Mahalaxmi race course in Mumbai (Bombay) when he fell off the horse and was dragged along the ground for some distance before he managed to released himself.
After seeking first-aid treatment for his bruises, the brave actor got back on the saddle to continue his lessons.
The historical romance, which also stars Bollywood superstar AISHWARYA RAI, is set for release next year (07).

British animated characters WALLACE and GROMIT could do the BAFTA double at the upcoming (26NOV06) Children’s British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards (BAFTA) after their movie THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT earned a nomination for best film.
The film’s nomination, which will compete against THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE, and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN’S CHEST for Best Film, follows their Best British film award win at the main BAFTA’s earlier this year (FEB06).

Former NEW SEEKERS singer EVE GRAHAM has broken her silence over her affair with late Irish soccer legend GEORGE BEST.
The 63-year-old became close to the troubled sports star in the 1960s at the peak of his career. Best died last year (05) after a long battle with alcoholism.
Graham says, "We used to hit the same nightclubs.
"One night in a quiet bar, he sat next to me. I thought how nice he was and that there was a sad side to him.
"He was charismatic, with burning eyes, and so vibrant. Not long after that, I spent the night with him. "I suppose George was good in bed - he had staying power. But we only slept together a couple of times. We just enjoyed each other’s company."

Rap mogul RAYMOND ‘BENZINO’ SCOTT and his former magazine The Source have been ordered to pay $14.5 million (£26 million) for firing a female editor at the publication after she accused them of sexual discrimination.
Former Editor-In-Chief KIMBERLY OSORIO was fired by rapper/publisher Scott in an angry, swearing phone call in February 2005 after she complained she worked in an office environment where the magazine bosses watched pornography, smoked marijuana and addressed female employees as "bitches".
The Source’s management, Scott and his co-founder DAVID MAYS insist Osorio’s employment ended because she was missing deadlines and failed to lead the editorial team efficiently.
A Manhattan federal jury in New York City ruled yesterday (23OCT06) that the publication had ended Osorio’s contract in retaliation for her complaints and that Scott had defamed her during a radio interview when he accused the journalist of having casual sex with powerful hip-hop figures.
However, the jury ruled the 32-year-old single mother was not discriminated against and had not worked in the inappropriate office environment she had described.
Osorio tells the New York Daily News, "I feel like I’ve been vindicated. This verdict shows that all women must be treated with dignity and respect no matter what industry they work in - even rap music." MERCEDES COLWIN, lawyer for The Source - whose owners removed Scott and his co-founder DAVID MAYS from the board of directors earlier this year (06) - says the magazine plans to appeal the verdict.
During her closing arguments in the trial, Colwin admitted swear words were often used in the publication’s headquarters, but they were not directed at Osorio.
Colwin says, "They used the f**k word, the s**t word, the damn word. It was not a gender-specific conduct whatsoever."

HOLE rocker COURTNEY LOVE praised MEL GIBSON for saving her from a life of drugs after the Hollywood actor forced her into rehabilitation.
Gibson sought to help the wild lady of rock at her home in Los Angeles when he realised she was hanging out with the wrong people.
Love says, "I kept slamming the door in (Gibson’s) face. There were two drug people with me who wouldn’t leave, so they couldn’t get me to rehab. But because of Mel, two drug people ran off to have a cheeseburger with him because he’s Mel, and then WARREN (her drug minder) could get me into rehab."
