CRUISE CONSIDERS MUTE ROLE IN NEW GULF WAR DRAMA
TOM CRUISE is reportedly keen to keep his mouth shut in his next movie after staging talks with Warner Brothers executives about playing a mute Gulf War hero in the film adaptation of DAVE KING’s novel THE HA HA.
Cruise is slated to play a soldier, rendered mute by his injuries, who is charged with the care of a nine-year-old.
It’s not the only film on the slate for the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE star - he’s also considering playing a congressman fighting MERYL STREEP’s journalist over the truth about a platoon of US troops in Afghanistan, according to trade paper Daily Variety.
ROBERT REDFORD is slated to direct the film, titled LIONS FOR LAMBS.
